Preply

Product manager in edtech

In short

This is a lead-level product management role at Preply, an edtech company, to own and launch "Preply Pro" end-to-end - strategy, roadmap, pricing, and commercial results across multiple squads and tribes. It demands senior product craft with consumer-facing, mobile-first product launches, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment without formal authority or a dedicated squad. The role requires deep data-driven decision making and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Based in London with a hybrid work setup.

Description
At Preply, we're all about creating life-changing learning experiences. We help people discover the magic of the perfect tutor, craft a personalised learning journey, and stay motivated to keep growing. Our approach is human-led, tech-enabled - and it's creating real impact.
Responsibilities
•Own the Preply Pro launch end to end. Strategy, roadmap, execution, and commercial results for one of Preply's most important bets - across squads, learners and tutors, web and mobile.
•Lead the commercial story. Own the business case, pricing and packaging, and the metrics that prove Pro is working. You bring commercial judgement to every prioritization call, not just product craft.
•Work across squads and tribes. The highest-impact work rarely lives in one team. You'll shape and drive initiatives that cut across multiple squads and tribes, aligning people who don't report to you around a shared outcome.
•Manage stakeholders like a pro. Keep senior stakeholders across Product, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Finance and Ops aligned and moving - building trust, surfacing trade-offs early, and driving decisions without formal authority.
•Stay close to the customer. Keep deep empathy for learners and tutors at the centre of every decision, so every strategic bet solves real problems people feel.
•Execute with discipline. While having access to product resources, you will operate without a dedicated squad - bridging product and program management to turn ambiguous, cross-functional work into clear plans, owners, and shipped results.
•Go into the data yourself. Pull your own analyses on how learners and tutors interact with Preply to guide decisions. Especially on Pro, what drives conversion and retention, and where the experience is falling flat.
Requirements
•Senior product craft. Substantial experience building and launching consumer-facing, mobile-first products. You have a keen eye for design and care about the details of a delightful experience.
•Strong commercial acumen. You are energized by driving user and business outcomes - pricing, packaging, conversion, retention, unit economics - and can build and defend the business case for a launch like Preply Pro.
•Deep customer empathy. You are genuinely curious about the learners and tutors who use Preply, and bring that into every prioritization call.
•Deeply data-driven. You go into the data yourself, find the signal, and build a point of view from scratch. You're comfortable with experiment design and reading A/B results without fooling yourself.
•Stakeholder management & influence. You build trust fast and align senior stakeholders across functions who don't report to you, turning competing priorities into shared decisions.
•Strong communication. You can turn complex, ambiguous work into a clear point of view that drives decisions at the leadership level.
•Disciplined execution. You turn ambiguous, cross-functional work into clear plans, owners, milestones and shipped outcomes - bridging product and program management.
•Comfort with ambiguity. You can make fuzzy things measurable and drive alignment on what good looks like - and you're comfortable delivering without a dedicated squad, borrowing and influencing resources to get there.
•Experience launching or scaling monetization related products.
