Fair use

Why this page exists

What makes a personal email from a candidate welcome rather than annoying is the same thing that keeps the channel alive for every other candidate: one relevant message from a real person, rarely, with an easy way out.

Every rule on this page is enforced by the platform. No account setting, budget or request to support can lift it. This policy forms part of our Terms of use.

If you received an email from an Eraldt user

It was written for you — about one specific vacancy, in the name of a real person whose experience fits it. Every fact in it comes from that person’s CV; the agent does not invent acquaintances, events or enthusiasm. The first email carries no links and no attachments.

It was sent one at a time, to your work address, normally during working hours.

You will not hear from that candidate about anything else. One email, then at most one follow-up in the same thread, days later, and it says that it is the last one. Your reply ends it sooner. A candidate cannot write to you again for a different vacancy, and deleting and recreating a profile does not reset this.

You hear from all of us rarely. Across every candidate on the platform, the number of emails a person can receive in a week is capped — higher for recruiters, whose job it is to hear from candidates, lower for hiring managers and lower still for everyone else — and spread out over days, never several at once. When more candidates want to write to a person than the cap allows, the slots go to the candidates whose fit for the role is strongest, not to the fastest or to the biggest budget.

Ask who is writing, and the candidate answers you. When there is something real to discuss — a call, a question the CV does not answer — the candidate takes over in person.

  • Reply that you do not want to be contacted, use the unsubscribe option in your mail client, or write to [email protected].
  • The block is immediate, permanent and platform-wide: no candidate will write to you again, and follow-ups already scheduled are cancelled.
  • Marking an email as spam has the same effect.

Your data. What we hold about you, where it came from and how to have it corrected or deleted is in our Privacy policy.

What this means for candidates

  • Your budget buys reach, not exceptions. The caps are the same whatever you spend.
  • A person who is full for the week is not available to you. Your email goes to someone else at the company or waits; the agent does not queue up to get there first.
  • One person, one ask. After your chain ends, that person is closed to you for good, for any vacancy.
  • A recipient’s “no” is final for you and for everyone. You cannot re-add an opted-out person, and neither can we.
  • You choose who not to write to. Your current employer and any company you exclude are never contacted; the rest of the rules are ours and apply to everyone.

How it is enforced

The checks run before a person is considered for your search, before we spend anything on finding their address, and again immediately before the email leaves. Every email, follow-up and opt-out is logged. The exact limits are ours to tune — we adjust them by reply and complaint rates — so this page describes the rules, not the numbers.

If something went wrong

A second email from the same candidate, a message after you opted out, an email that clearly was not meant for you — write to [email protected] and forward the email. We will fix the block and find out what let it through.
