About the Role
This role is part of the Central Finance Team at saas.group. saas.group, established in 2017, acquires small B2B SaaS companies and grows them, with a fully remote team of nearly 400+ colleagues spanning 45 countries and 24 brands under its umbrella.
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Managing Director to lead SaaS.group GmbH, our German legal entity based in Schönefeld. In this role, you will serve as the registered Managing Director on-site, exercising real decision-making authority, managing office administration, and overseeing day-to-day accounting operations. You will serve as the local face of the company for authorities, banks, auditors, and external service providers while working in close alignment with the Central Legal, Accounting, and Finance teams. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced finance or office management professional based in the Berlin/Brandenburg region looking to step up into an official corporate leadership role within an international, fast-growing software group.
Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be:
•Seamlessly transition into the registered Managing Director role for SaaS.group GmbH and establish effective on-site operational processes in Schönefeld.
•Assume complete oversight of local bookkeeping (payables, receivables, document management) and streamline month-end close workflows.
•Build strong working relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, banks, and internal group accounting/legal functions.
•Ensure full compliance with all corporate-law requirements, commercial register obligations, and internal rules of procedure.
Responsibilities
•Manage SaaS.group GmbH on-site in Schönefeld, taking full ownership of approvals, contract execution, and payment authorizations within defined rules of procedure.
•Run and oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, document organization, and preparation of month-end closing activities.
•Collaborate closely with tax advisors and auditors on VAT filings, annual financial statements, and audit processes.
•Maintain strict compliance with German corporate-law obligations, including commercial register filings, transparency register updates, and shareholder resolutions.
•Lead office management and operational setup in Schönefeld, managing incoming mail, vendor/service provider contracts, archiving, and filing systems.
•Act as the primary local point of contact for the German tax office (Finanzamt), financial institutions, local authorities, and insurers.
Requirements
•Vocational training in a commercial field (e.g., Tax Clerk / Steuerfachangestellte/r, Certified Accountant / Bilanzbuchhalter/in, Office Management) or equivalent practical experience.
•Multi-year background in accounting, financial administration, or senior office management.
•Strong proficiency with DATEV (or comparable accounting software) as well as modern digital tools (MS Office / Google Workspace).
•Fluency in German and good working proficiency in English to collaborate effectively across the international group.
•Willingness to assume corporate liability and responsibility as a registered Managing Director (leadership experience is a plus, but not required).
•Residence in the Berlin/Brandenburg region with the requirement for regular, physical presence at the Schönefeld office.
What's Offered
•Real Responsibility: A genuine Managing Director role with clear rules of procedure, corporate protection (D&O insurance included), and direct collaboration with the group CFO.
•Freedom and autonomy: a high-trust team, with lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when needed.
•Minimum bureaucracy: efficient work without excessive meetings and red tape.
•Small & friendly team: helping each other out, having fun.
•Access to a network/community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals who exchange ideas, knowledge, and expertise internally.
•Flexible time off.
