Our client is a product company building a practice management platform for accounting firms in the US and worldwide. The product covers the everyday operations of a firm: workflows, documents, payments, and communication inside the firm and with its clients. It is a single web-based B2B2C SaaS platform used by a large number of accounting firms and, through them, by their end clients. The company is profitable and bootstrapped, so it sets its own roadmap and builds for the long term. All engineering is in-house, within a fully remote international team.
What you'll do:
•Own the architecture and technical direction of your domain, with decisions made for years ahead rather than for the next sprint.
•Take product hypotheses from the PM, work them through together from discovery, and challenge a task when it doesn't serve the business goal.
•Break work into stages that can ship on their own, set their order, and deliver them with AI coding agents, bringing in other engineers when a stage needs them.
•Deliver features end-to-end across backend and frontend with no separate QA. You test your own work and write automated tests.
•Stay accountable for what ships in your domain: that it arrives, works, and stays stable afterwards.
•Design systems and explain to stakeholders and other teams how they will work and integrate. Agree on your domain's contracts and dependencies with other domains.
•Keep the loop from idea to real users short: MVP out, feedback in, next iteration shipped.
•Clear blockers yourself, before they turn into delays.
•Raise the engineering level in your domain through design reviews, pairing and direct feedback, and drive changes to engineering standards when the current ones don't fit.
Key requirements:
•8+ years in software engineering at least at a senior level: full-stack skills with deeper backend expertise and solid system design.
•Experience leading product delivery: taking tasks from product, breaking them down, and bringing them to production.
•High ownership: you drive work to the result without reminders and raise concerns when something doesn't make sense.
•3+ years owning production systems where correctness had financial or legal consequences, including data model changes on live systems and structural fixes after incidents.
•Hands-on experience with distributed systems and multi-tenant SaaS: consistency, idempotency, partial failures, data integrity.
•Product mindset and readiness to dive into a complex business domain.
•Sound judgment on AI in engineering: you use it where it speeds you up and stay accountable for what ships.
•Fluent English. Russian is a plus, as many of your teammates are Russian-speaking.
Nice to have:
•Practical experience with DDD and teaching it to other engineers.
•Staff or architect-level ownership of a domain maintained by several teams.
•Experience making coding agents effective on production codebases.
What the company offers:
•Competitive compensation in USD, discussed during the first interview with the recruiter.

•30 paid days off per year, sick days as needed, and a day off on your birthday.

•English lessons and co-working space reimbursement.
