CloudFerro S.A.

Python Engineer - Career | CloudFerro

In short

CloudFerro, a European cloud platform provider serving ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF and other science/space organizations, is hiring a Python Engineer for a newly formed team building PaaS services (DBaaS, RaaS, MLOpsaaS) from scratch. The role requires strong Python skills, a web framework (FastAPI/Flask/Django), REST API design knowledge, SQL/NoSQL persistence experience (PostgreSQL, Redis), and Kubernetes proficiency, with full end-to-end ownership of services. Based in Warsaw with hybrid work, it offers exposure to CNCF technologies and an AI-native engineering workflow.

Python Engineer
Warsaw, hybrid work
Are you looking for a place where your work really matters? At CloudFerro we build technologies used daily by European leaders in science and the space sector — including ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International, DLR and EGI. Working close to the Earth Observation sector, you can genuinely support analyses and a better understanding of our planet. If you are interested in modern technologies, large datasets and an environment where you can develop your skills and have an impact — we are the place for you.
We are constantly growing, and we are currently looking for a person for the position of:
Python Engineer
Role
You build key managed services of a cloud platform (PaaS) — for example DBaaS, RaaS (Registry as a Service) or MLOpsaaS. You work in a full-ownership model (you build it, you own it) — you are responsible for your product end-to-end, from Kubernetes integration to API and documentation. You have a real impact on how customers build and run their applications on the platform. You join a team building the platform from scratch — a role with huge exposure and a clear growth path.
Your tasks will include
•Developing components that make up PaaS services.
•Designing solutions for multi-tenant environments and large-scale systems.
•Collaborating with the Product Manager to develop solutions that meet business requirements.
•Creating prototypes and proof of concept for new solutions.
•Developing existing code and implementing new components.
•Making technical decisions considering security, scalability, reliability and maintainability.
•Ensuring code quality through code review, automated tests, refactoring and good engineering practices.
•Diagnosing complex problems at the intersection of PaaS services, shared services and cloud infrastructure.
•Collaborating with other technical teams.
•Creating and developing documentation and standards.
Requirements
•Good knowledge of Python.
•Practical knowledge of at least one framework (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
•Knowledge of REST API design principles: CRUD operations, error handling, data validation, versioning.
•Experience building a persistence layer based on SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis) — data modeling, migration management.
•Knowledge of Kubernetes sufficient to independently deploy, configure and diagnose your own service.
•Fluent use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot) as a regular part of the engineering workflow.
Nice to have
•Knowledge of Go.
•Knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes and cloud environments.
•Experience implementing distributed solutions for multi-tenant environments and large-scale systems.
•Ability to containerize applications (Docker) and build CI/CD pipelines for developed services.
•Knowledge of observability topics: structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing.
•Experience working as a fullstack engineer.
Why it's worth joining us
•Building a cloud platform: you create from scratch a modern ecosystem that supports the European space industry, climate research and scientific projects of real importance.
•Autonomous team: you join a newly formed group that operates like a startup, but within a stable, large organization with access to resources that small companies cannot provide.
•CNCF technologies in production: you work with Kubernetes, KNative, Cilium, ArgoCD, Kubeflow and other open-source projects, with the opportunity to contribute to them.
•Real impact: you have a voice in architectural and product decisions, and your ideas genuinely shape the direction of the platform's development.
•AI-native workflow: we use tools such as Claude Code every day, not as an experiment but as an integral part of the work.
•Autonomy and stability: we offer great freedom in organizing work, transparent cooperation rules and stable employment forms with attractive pay.
•You will receive a benefits package — medical care, Multisport, life insurance.
•You will have the opportunity to take part in language classes.
