Vinted operates a second-hand marketplace connecting members across more than 20 markets. Vinted Go provides shipping services through a network of pick-up and drop-off points, while Vinted Pay provides integrated payment services for buyers and sellers.
Responsibilities
•Build features that improve members' lives as part of a team
•Develop backend solutions using technologies such as Golang, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Memcached, and Elasticsearch
•Contribute to backend systems serving millions of users and supporting high-traffic workloads
•Apply Agile and Lean principles and participate in planning, retrospectives, and other team ceremonies
•Collaborate with developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews
•Validate changes through experimentation and measurable outcomes in a data-driven environment
•Contribute to technical discussions and solution design with more senior engineers
•Improve existing systems and services to make them simpler, more maintainable, and reliable
•Build, test, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot backend services with team support
•Use Grafana and Kibana to monitor service behaviour and investigate issues
•Write clear, maintainable, and well-tested code
•Collaborate with the team and adjacent partners to deliver features
Requirements
•Have solid software engineering fundamentals and experience building backend applications
•Write clean, maintainable code and care about quality and testability
•Be comfortable working with databases, APIs, and service-based systems
•Be curious about distributed systems and architectural trade-offs, and willing to learn from more senior engineers
•Be eager to learn and grow backend engineering skills, including working with Go
•Have professional experience with Ruby or a strong interest in learning it
Nice to have: experience tech-leading the extraction of domains or packages from a monolithic codebase into decoupled, standalone services
