About the Role
EPAM Design Studio is building an AI-native product end-to-end for a global financial-services client. The product aims to make complex decisions clear, transparent, and human-centered.
Responsibilities
•Design and refine end-to-end product experiences from concept to production-ready UI as part of a global design team
•Build, evolve, and govern a Figma design system, including tokens, components, variants, and documentation, and keep it aligned with its coded counterpart in the repository and Storybook
•Connect Figma and the repository using AI and LLMs so design decisions flow reliably into code
•Structure AI context in the repository, including Markdown-based guidance files and component routing and linkage, so AI output follows design principles, standards, accessibility requirements, and front-end conventions
•Define where AI performs design work and where human review and hands-on craft are required, and establish quality gates
•Work within an AI-native SDLC alongside engineers, product owners, and QA; contribute to agile ceremonies where needed and shared definitions of done
•Present design rationale to client stakeholders, gather feedback, and iterate quickly
•Prototype flows and interactions to test ideas with users and stakeholders
•Share learnings across the team and help improve AI-enabled design workflows
Requirements
•5+ years of UX/UI or product design experience at senior or lead level
•A portfolio demonstrating complex product work and hands-on design-system contributions
•Proven experience building and scaling Figma design systems, including variables and tokens, component architecture, documentation, and governance
•Solid understanding of design systems in repositories, including tokens, components, and versioning, and hands-on Storybook experience
•Hands-on experience connecting AI/LLMs to Figma and codebases, including building routers, prompts, or Markdown-based guidance to keep AI output consistent with design systems
•Strong command of design principles and accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.2
•Web-coding knowledge sufficient to work fluently with engineers, including HTML, CSS, and component-based frameworks
•A clear, evidence-based perspective on what AI does best in design and where human intervention remains essential
•Proven experience working with development teams across the SDLC; AI-native SDLC experience is preferred
•Comfortable working in cross-functional, distributed teams across design, engineering, product, and QA, including with US-based colleagues
•Able to own a workstream, make decisions under ambiguity, and deliver in a fast-paced environment
•Expert-level written and spoken English, with the ability to articulate complex ideas, design rationale, and strategic thinking
Nice to Have
•Financial-services domain knowledge, including investment, wealth management, or fintech products
•Design-token pipeline experience, such as Tokens Studio or Style Dictionary
•Hands-on use of AI-assisted coding tools, such as Cursor, Windsurf, or Claude Code, or prototyping in code
•Client-facing consulting experience
Conditions
•The position requires 5 days of on-site office engagement
