Vinted

Product manager for second-hand fashion

In short

Product Manager role at Vinted's Security domain, owning account safety, registration, verification, bot detection and identity/fraud prevention for the marketplace. The company is a large second-hand fashion marketplace, and this role sits within a cross-functional security product team working with Engineering, Legal, Compliance and Operations. It requires several years of product management experience across the full product lifecycle, strong analytical skills, and comfort working in ambiguous, technically complex environments, ideally with Trust & Safety or Fraud Prevention background. Hybrid role based in Berlin with a salary range of €73,100–€98,900 gross per year.

About the Role
We're looking for Product Managers to join Vinted Marketplace within our Security domain. The Security domain protects member accounts and keeps the platform safe by securing sign-up and login for both individuals and businesses. We prevent fake or malicious registrations and automated bot activity, manage email/phone verification and two-factor authentication, reduce account takeovers, detect inappropriate multiple-account use, and build the core systems that power identity, verification, and additional security checks when needed.
Responsibilities
•Shape how multiple accounts and profiles work on Vinted, with an immediate priority on creating a safe, easy-to-use experience for minors and teens (including parental controls, compliance, and safety mechanisms), while expanding support for broader usage patterns.
•Protect genuine users while preventing malicious actors, focusing on end-to-end registration flows, UX-first adaptive registration, and defense mechanisms against bot activity.
•Own email/phone verification (2FA), identity check mechanisms, and friction platforms, ensuring seamless, scalable verification for genuine members while stopping compromised or fake accounts.
•Drive and align the vision, product strategy, and measurable OKRs for your ownership area, connecting member problems to business opportunities.
•Conduct rigorous product discovery, framing complex member, safety, security, and business problems using both qualitative research and quantitative analytics.
•Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Research, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Member Support, and external 3rd-party vendors.
•Understand end-to-end user journeys, technical architecture constraints, safety signals, and platform ecosystem dynamics for both genuine users and malicious actors.
•Oversee the product development cycle using agile methodologies, making clear trade-offs, managing roadmaps, running hypothesis-based experiments (A/B testing), and iterating based on data.
•Ensure regulatory, legal, and security requirements are integrated into product decisions from the start without compromising a smooth member journey.
•Bring clarity to ambiguous problem spaces and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
Requirements
•Several years of product management experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional tech environment, with a track record across the full product lifecycle.
•Proven experience or strong interest in Trust & Safety, Security, Registration/Onboarding, Bot Detection, Identity, Parental Controls, Compliance, or Fraud/Abuse Prevention.
•A strong self-starter who thrives in ambiguous environments, bringing structure, defining scope, and translating complex concepts into actionable product steps.
•Deeply member-centric with an analytical mindset, skilled at using qualitative insights and quantitative data to make product decisions, track metrics, and evaluate A/B tests.
•Comfortable understanding technical architecture and infrastructure constraints; hands-on and willing to dig into details to unblock execution.
•Excellent written and verbal communicator who can bridge technical, design, legal, and operational conversations to align stakeholders and influence priorities.
