Flatpay

(Junior) Project Manager (m/w/d)

In short

This role manages time-critical internal projects end-to-end, from unclear requirements to finished deliverables, working closely with the People Director at a fast-growing payments company. It's a fully on-site, five-days-a-week position in Berlin requiring strong prioritization, independent problem-solving, and polished presentation skills. The company is a European point-of-sale payments provider expanding in Germany, and the role demands 2-5 years of project/program management or operations experience plus excellent German.

About the Position
Flatpay's mission is to make the everyday business of small companies simpler and to support them as best as possible. As we continue to grow our point-of-sale offering in Germany, we know our employees are our greatest asset. That's why we are looking for a proactive and empathetic Project Manager (m/f/d) to help us create a motivating, compliant, and high-performing work environment as we grow.
As a Project Manager at Flatpay, you are responsible for important and time-critical projects – from the initial idea to the concrete outcome. You ensure speed, structure, and clarity. You turn initially unclear requirements into concrete plans, independently gather the information needed, and deliver professionally prepared results – often within a few hours rather than several weeks.
You work independently and pragmatically, manage several topics in parallel, and proactively keep everyone involved informed about progress and challenges. Working closely with the People Director, you drive forward the most important priorities – through good planning and efficient time management, not through regular overtime.
This position is a fully on-site role with five days of attendance per week in our Berlin office.
Your Responsibilities
•You independently manage several prioritized and time-critical projects from planning to execution and ensure clear results.
•You quickly translate initially unclear requirements into concrete plans and results – without creating unnecessarily complicated processes.
•You create high-quality documents and presentations, independently drawing on existing materials and proven approaches.
•You define clear project scopes, milestones, and success criteria, track responsibilities, and make risks transparent early on.
•You develop various options in fast, practice-oriented problem-solving formats and deliver results within a few hours rather than several weeks.
•You proactively inform the People Director and key stakeholders about progress, risks, and potential obstacles.
•You confidently switch between various parallel topics while maintaining both quality and speed.
Your Profile
•Two to five years of professional experience in project management, program management, or operations, with demonstrable experience delivering high-quality results quickly.
•Strong execution skills as well as very good prioritization and time management – without relying on regular overtime.
•An independent and solution-oriented way of working: you independently gather the information you need, quickly get up to speed on new topics, and make well-founded, pragmatic decisions.
•Clear and precise communication as well as confidence presenting to senior stakeholders.
•Very good knowledge of productivity and documentation tools as well as a strong sense for the structure and design of presentations.
•The ability to act pragmatically and in the company's best interest even under time pressure and shifting priorities.
•Excellent German language skills and the ability to navigate confidently in a fast-paced, high-standards work environment.
•Experience in the people/HR area and/or in consulting is an advantage but not a requirement.
