The client operates in the investment banking industry.
Responsibilities
•Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring
•Implement data access using Hibernate and SQL, focusing on performance and maintainability
•Analyze and tune SQL queries and database performance on Oracle or PostgreSQL
•Define and consume RESTful APIs, communicating requirements and constraints across teams
•Translate business and product requirements into robust technical solutions
•Apply clean code principles and back-end best practices across the codebase
•Write and maintain unit and integration tests
•Participate in agile ceremonies, including refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives
•Perform code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards and tooling
•Work closely with QA, product managers, and architects to ensure high-quality, business-aligned deliveries
•Support and improve existing applications in an enterprise investment-banking environment
Requirements
•Minimum 8 years of professional experience as a Java developer, with a proven track record on long-term projects
•Strong hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
•Strong SQL skills, including query and performance tuning
•Hands-on experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL
•Experience in automated testing of Java applications
•Clean coding skills
•Excellent problem-solving abilities
•Experience in RESTful API design
•Familiarity with agile development practices, including Scrum and Kanban
•Good communication skills and the ability to clearly state requirements to other teams
