Responsibilities
•Conduct regular 1:1s, provide actionable feedback, and support engineers’ career growth, performance, and skill development
•Own squad momentum and delivery rhythm
•Work with product and design to break down projects, manage trade-offs, remove friction, and keep shipping cycles fast and predictable
•Implement just enough process to keep teams aligned and unblocked while avoiding bureaucracy and rigid frameworks
•Build a team environment based on accountability, trust, and autonomy; maintain morale and foster craftsmanship and ownership
•Partner with Talent and Leadership to recruit, interview, and onboard engineering talent as the team scales
Requirements
•2+ years of experience managing engineering teams in fast-moving, high-bar product startups or tech companies
•Strong execution instincts, including scoping down features, identifying bottlenecks, and maintaining delivery without sacrificing quality
•Passion for developing people, active listening, and empowering engineers
•A software engineering background or strong technical foundation to understand architectural trade-offs, technical friction, and team discussions
•Comfortable navigating ambiguity, handling operational tasks, and adapting as product priorities evolve
Conditions
•Compensation is slightly above market on salary and above market on equity
•Relocation assistance is available for candidates moving to London
