Responsibilities
•Partner with the Digital Product Owner to translate roadmap priorities into clear, delivery-ready requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items, ensuring alignment from discovery through release and continuous improvement.
•Create and maintain clear, structured API specifications that engineers, QA, and AI-assisted development tools can act on without guessing. These cover endpoints, request/response models, validation rules, error handling, business rules, and edge cases, aligned with OpenAPI standards.
•Keep API and business-rule documentation accurate and consistent with the specifications for integrators.
•Validate delivered APIs against business and technical requirements. Develop test scenarios and test data, and check coverage of acceptance criteria and edge cases.
•Act as the day-to-day point of clarification between business stakeholders, engineering, QA/UAT teams, and external partners.
•Represent customer and integration-partner needs in agile ceremonies, planning, and prioritization.
•Use AI to speed up and sharpen requirements analysis, gap and ambiguity detection, edge-case exploration, specification drafting, testing, and documentation.
•Stay accountable for the quality of the result, and promote best practices, quality standards, and effective prompts and workflows across the team.
Requirements
•Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or similar role in digital product development, with a strong focus on APIs, system integrations, or backend services.
•Strong technical understanding of API ecosystems, including REST APIs, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, authentication concepts, request/response models, validation rules, and error handling. This includes familiarity with Jira and Confluence, and with process modeling (BPMN, sequence diagrams).
•Hands-on experience with API testing and quality assurance, using tools such as Postman to validate functionality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure requirements are fully met.
•Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) for requirements engineering, analysis, specification writing, and test design. You critically review AI output and catch hallucinations, hidden assumptions, and missing cases.
•Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including managing multiple stakeholders and parallel workstreams.
•You can translate complex business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria, and you are fluent in spoken and written English.
