Glovo

Data analyst in risk and fraud

In short

A senior data analyst role at Glovo focused on building anti-fraud detection logic, models, and dashboards to combat courier fraud (account sharing, GPS spoofing, cancellation abuse, payment manipulation) across all markets. The role owns global fraud strategy, partners with Data Engineering and Data Science to deploy ML solutions, and builds self-service monitoring for ops teams across 10+ markets. Requires 3+ years as a data analyst/analytics engineer with strong SQL, Python, and hands-on AI/ML experience. Based in Barcelona on a hybrid schedule (work from home two days a week).

About the Role
Courier fraud costs Glovo millions a year. Account sharing, GPS spoofing, cancellation abuse, payment manipulation. Your job is to make that number smaller, end to end. You'll design the detection logic, build the models, ship the dashboards, and push AI into the anti-fraud pipeline across every Glovo market. The problems are adversarial, the data is messy, and every percentage point you recover hits the P&L.
Responsibilities
•Own the global fraud strategy. Define rules, thresholds, and detection logic across all markets. Iterate as fraud patterns evolve.
•Partner with Operations and Legal to align enforcement with local regulation.
•Design and ship heuristic scores, rule engines, and anomaly flags for cancellation abuse, account sharing, GPS spoofing, and payment fraud. Work with Data Engineering to keep them running in production.
•Scope ML use cases, partner with Data Science to build them, and own the path from prototype to deployed model. If central doesn't build it, you do.
•Build self-service monitoring so ops teams across 10+ markets can spot signals and act without waiting for you. Collaborate with local operations to make the tools fit their reality.
•Run deep-dives that end in countermeasures, not slide decks.
•Give leadership clear, regular reporting on fraud trends, financial exposure, and what's working.
•Understand their incentives, pain points, and the vectors they're exposed to, so the solutions you build are effective and fair.
Requirements
•3+ years in a data analyst or analytics engineer role, with a track record of turning analysis into business decisions.
•Strong SQL and Python. Production-grade queries and scripts, not just ad-hoc notebooks.
•Hands-on experience with AI/ML. You've scoped use cases, built or partnered on models, and taken them from prototype to production. You don't just consume models, you push them forward.
•Structured problem solving. You take messy, ambiguous problems and turn them into clear workstreams with a plan.
•Strategic thinking. You zoom out from the data to frame the business problem and decide where effort has the highest leverage.
•English fluency. Comfortable pushing proposals through senior stakeholders and central teams.
Nice to Have
•Experience in fraud, trust & safety, or marketplace operations.
•BI platform experience (Looker, Tableau, or similar) and an opinion on what makes a dashboard people actually use.
Benefits
•An enticing equity plan that lets you own a piece of the action.
•Top-notch private health insurance to keep you at your peak.
•Monthly Glovo credit to satisfy your cravings!
•Discounts on transportation, food, and even kindergarten expenses.
•Discounted gym memberships to keep you energized.
•Extra time off, the freedom to work from home two days a week, and the opportunity to work from anywhere for up to three weeks a year!
•Enhanced parental leave, and office-based nursery.
•Online therapy and wellbeing benefits to ensure your mental well-being.
