About the Role
The Consulting Data Architect, Snowflake is responsible for designing end-to-end Snowflake solutions and providing technical leadership throughout implementation. In addition to demonstrating the capabilities expected of the Senior Consulting Data Engineer, this role translates business and technical requirements into scalable architectures, leads project teams, owns solution-level quality, creates reusable solution patterns, and serves as a trusted technical advisor to customer stakeholders.
The role remains hands-on as needed while directing engineers, consultants, and customer teams in the delivery of data engineering, analytics, governance, and AI-enabled Snowflake solutions.
What You Will Do
•Manage team delivery against the Statement of Work, including scope, schedule, effort, dependencies, quality, and budget; communicate status and escalate risks with corrective recommendations.
•Perform hands-on development in Snowflake, SQL, dbt, python, ingestion, transformation, modeling, testing, troubleshooting, deployment, documentation, and knowledge transfer as required for delivery success.
•Design and lead implementation of end-to-end Snowflake architectures, including ingestion, transformation, data modeling, analytics, security, governance, platform operations, and dbt-based ELT patterns.
•Ensure project teams follow approved architecture, security, privacy, governance, source-control, testing, deployment, and documentation standards.
•Review solution components and deliverables for technical accuracy, data quality, maintainability, performance, and alignment with customer requirements and architecture decisions.
•Coordinate customer stakeholders, engineers, consultants, project managers, account teams, and partners; identify follow-on opportunities and contribute reusable delivery practices.
•Translate customer business objectives, technical requirements, constraints, and success measures into documented solution architectures and implementation plans.
•Lead project teams by directing engineers, consultants, and customer technical resources in solution design, development, testing, deployment, and knowledge transfer.
•Own technical decisions for assigned engagements and resolve design conflicts across workstreams, integrations, security requirements, and delivery dependencies.
•Build and validate proofs of concept, prototypes, reusable accelerators, reference architectures, and implementation templates that move data and AI solutions toward production-ready outcomes.
•Design practical AI-enabled solution patterns, including retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, embedding pipelines, prompt orchestration, semantic search, and AI-enabled analytics workflows.
•Conduct architecture and peer reviews; own solution-level technical quality and confirm deliverables align with requirements, architecture decisions, project scope, and the Statement of Work.
•Monitor technical delivery against scope, schedule, effort, and budget; proactively address or escalate risks and recommend corrective actions.
•Support discovery, business-case development, estimates, assumptions, proposals, SOWs, quotations, presentations, and implementation approaches in partnership with account and presales teams.
•Serve as the primary trusted technical advisor for project stakeholders and communicate effectively across customer, delivery, sales, and partner teams.
•Create reusable delivery assets and promote consistent architecture, engineering, documentation, and quality practices across engagements.
•Mentor engineers and consultants and provide actionable technical guidance and knowledge transfer.
•Attend required customer and internal meetings with camera on when participating virtually, unless an approved exception or practical limitation applies.
What We Expect of You
•Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of professional experience with relational data models, databases, data engineering, ingestion, transformation, analytics delivery, and solution architecture OR 11+ years of professional experience with relational data models, databases, data engineering, ingestion, transformation, analytics delivery, and solution architecture
