We're hiring a Senior/Lead Backend Engineer to build the core digital infrastructure for a next-generation energy company. You'll work closely with product across the full back-end and engineer backend systems that are second to none.
Responsibilities
Own systems end-to-end, from design and architecture through to production, with a high degree of autonomy as an individual contributor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Building the inference layer for our AI workloads, serving millions of prompts per day across customer support and meter-reading OCR, and migrate workloads onto our own GPU infrastructure
•Working on one of the core data challenges in energy: settlement data can arrive months after delivery, requiring systems that support continuous recalculation as new data becomes available
•Developing our real-time billing engine, including per-customer ordering and idempotency, audit trails, and pricing based on half-hourly meter data
•Building and extending our trading and hedging systems, covering forward markets, portfolio optimisation, and reconciliation against exchanges we trade on directly
Requirements
•3+ years of software engineering experience, with requirements varying by role level, from individual contributor to lead
•Proven ability to define and build complex systems
•Hands-on experience shipping highly available production systems
