About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Core Team of a leading European tech company. This central team develops the libraries, internal tools and foundational components used by all product teams. It is a high-impact role with strong autonomy and technical ownership, in a cloud-native, distributed environment.
Responsibilities
•Design and develop reusable backend libraries and shared components.
•Support multiple teams with scalable and maintainable solutions.
•Contribute to the migration from a monolith to a microservices architecture.
•Improve system performance, reliability and observability.
•Drive best practices: clean code, testing and architecture standards.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a distributed environment.
Requirements
•5+ years of experience in backend development.
•Strong experience with Python (FastAPI and/or Django).
•Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
•Solid understanding of REST APIs and system design.
•Experience with databases and messaging systems.
•Strong focus on code quality (Clean Code, SOLID, TDD/BDD).
•Comfortable working in agile environments (Scrum / Kanban).
•Proactive mindset, ownership and strong team collaboration skills.
•English C1 (mandatory).
