Responsibilities
•Drive architecture decisions and own the technical direction of the core platform while remaining hands-on with the code
•Mentor engineers and support their professional growth
•Independently drive projects from design to production
•Modernize large legacy codebases incrementally without disrupting business operations
Requirements
•5–7+ Years of commercial PHP development experience
•Strong knowledge of modern PHP (8.0+) and backend engineering best practices
•Hands-on experience with Yii2
•Experience designing scalable backend systems and applying software architecture and system design principles
•Strong MySQL experience, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning
•Experience with high-load production systems and application performance optimization
•Experience designing APIs and service integrations
•Experience with Git workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD
•Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills
•Proven experience leading development teams or major technical initiatives
•Strong estimation, planning, prioritization, and risk management skills
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Effective communication and collaboration in cross-functional teams
•High autonomy, accountability, and product ownership
•Product-oriented thinking focused on business impact
Nice to have
•Interest in music and willingness to learn the product domain
•Experience building large-scale consumer products
•Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot
