The Deployment Technology team is transforming how Workday is deployed and managed. Our mission is to reduce deployment time, cost and complexity while helping customers realize value faster. We build products that help Workday implementation teams and partners get customers live faster by making it easier to discover proven setup approaches, reuse configuration, automate repetitive work and use AI-powered tools to guide and complete complex implementation tasks. We also help customers become more self-sufficient after deployment, making it easier to manage and maintain Workday, adopt new products and features, and stay on top of ongoing change through intuitive, AI-enabled experiences.
As an AI Engineer in Deployment Technology — a newly created profile on the team, based in Dublin — you will help design and build the AI-powered systems and tooling that guide and automate complex Workday implementation tasks. You'll work closely with senior engineers, Product Management, and platform teams to bring AI capabilities from prototype to production, helping implementation teams and partners deploy Workday faster and helping customers stay self-sufficient long after go-live.
Responsibilities
•Build and deploy AI-powered features and tools that automate repetitive implementation work and guide complex configuration tasks
•Help integrate AI/ML models (including LLM-based capabilities) into Deployment Technology products, from prototype through production
•Contribute to the infrastructure, pipelines, and monitoring needed to run AI systems reliably at scale
•Collaborate with Product Management, implementation teams, partners, and enablement to understand real deployment challenges and help translate them into AI-driven solutions
•Support performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency improvements for deployed AI capabilities
•Grow your expertise in AI engineering practices alongside a team establishing this discipline from the ground up
Requirements
•3-5 years of experience in software engineering
•Strong proficiency in Python
•Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, and LangSmith (or willingness to quickly ramp up on these frameworks)
•Proficiency in at least one other statically-typed language such as Java, Scala, Rust, or C++
•Hands-on experience building applications with Large Language Models
•Exposure to agentic design patterns where an LLM uses tools to interact with its environment
•Experience developing and deploying applications on a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
•Familiarity with event-driven systems and asynchronous task handling
•Experience working within fast-paced, agile environments and cross-functional teams
•Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical partners
•Comfortable working with ambiguity and translating complex problems into clear, thoughtful solutions

What we offer
You'll help build what AI-powered deployment means at Workday, working alongside senior engineers, a Senior Product Manager, and a cross-functional team shaping the next generation of deployment technology across the full customer lifecycle.
Primary Location Base Pay Range: €73,100 EUR - €109,600 EUR (Ireland). As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants awarded by Workday Inc.
Our Approach to Flexible Work: with Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds — in-person time and remote. Rather than a number of required days in-office each week, employees spend at least half (50%) of their time each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role).
