Advisor, Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC), Audit and Assurance - (Risk and Assurance)

In short

This Advisor role owns and oversees bp's new digital, AI-enabled Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) audit platform, acting as the "human in the loop" for supplier risk assessments within the Procurement organization. The role is the single point of accountability linking procurement contract owners and business Contract Accountable Managers, driving remediation of supplier ABC risk, and requires working European shift hours. It demands sound knowledge of ABC regulation (e.g. UK Bribery Act), audit/assurance experience, and strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience (10 preferred).

Let me tell you about the role
Bp's supplier Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) audit programme is evolving. We are moving from a limited annual sample-audit model to a digital, AI-enabled ABC maturity assessment platform that provides upfront capability assessment of suppliers at onboarding, plus ongoing monitoring throughout the life of the contract – giving bp better oversight and remediation management of supplier ABC risk.
As Discipline Advisor, you will own and oversee this new ABC audit platform, applying expert human judgement to the insights it generates. You will be the single point of accountability linking procurement contract owners and business Contract Accountable Managers (CAMs), driving tangible improvements in suppliers' ABC risk management programmes.
This role sits within bp's Procurement organization. You will provide independent, evidence-based assurance over supplier ABC controls, helping bp identify and remediate risk earlier and more proportionately – strengthening bp's overall ABC compliance objectives.
You may also support the delivery of wider procurement assurance activities, focusing on testing, evaluating, and strengthening compliance with key procurement policies, procedures, and controls.
This role requires working European shift hours! Regional Exposures.
You will work with
You will be part of the Assurance team within Finance Procurement Safety, Risk & Compliance, reporting to Albert Santa, Procurement Risk & Compliance Manager.
You will work closely with procurement contract owners and business Contract Accountable Managers (CAMs), who are responsible for managing contractual obligations and supplier risk mitigations, to drive improvements arising from platform assessments.
Key stakeholders also include the platform provider, audit firms, suppliers, and subject matter experts across Legal, Internal Audit, Risk and Ethics & Compliance, with whom you will ensure the platform delivers proportionate, evidence-based oversight of supplier ABC risk across the full supplier lifecycle.

•Act as the single point of accountability linking procurement contract owners and business contract-accountable managers, driving improvements in suppliers' ABC risk management programmes and ensuring identified gaps are actioned.
•Analyse platform data and audit findings to identify trends, themes and risks, and translate these into clear, actionable insight and reporting for senior leadership, Procurement and suppliers.
•Conduct risk assessments and root cause analysis on instances of non-conformance, recommending proportionate remediation to strengthen suppliers' ABC risk management and compliance.
•Support continuous improvement of the platform, methodology and audit standards, ensuring documentation and audit trails meet re-performance and governance requirements.
•Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders – including Procurement contract owners, business CAMs, suppliers, Legal and Ethics & Compliance – to ensure alignment and support adoption of the new platform and ways of working.
What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications)
1) ABC Knowledge & Experience
•Sound knowledge of the ABC regulatory environment (e.g. UK Bribery Act, failure to prevent bribery/fraud, adequate/reasonable procedures defences).
•Experience supporting assurance, audit or control-testing activities, ideally including exposure to digital or AI-enabled risk/assessment platforms or in the field of regulatory compliance.
•Bachelor's degree preferably in a relevant subject, or equivalent audit qualifications. Minimum 5 years' relevant experience (10 years preferred).
2) Skills & Behaviours
•Strong analytical skills, judgement and conceptual thinking to interpret platform outputs, diagnose compliance issues and recommend proportionate, actionable solutions.
•Effective stakeholder management across a global, multi-cultural context, with the credibility to influence procurement contract owners and business CAMs.
•Strong project management skills to support delivery of an evolving digital audit and assurance programme.
•Structured, clear communicator, comfortable presenting audit findings, risk insights and platform outputs to senior leadership and suppliers.
3) Leadership & Impact
•Takes ownership as the single point of accountability for the ABC audit platform, delivering outcomes to a high standard with clear documentation and traceability.
•Fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement through proactive, data-driven engagement with stakeholders.
