Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam (DSR) is part of the Damen Shiprepair & Conversion group, which offers a complete package of maintenance, repair, conversion and refit work for ships and offshore structures. The role
As a Werkvoorbereider (Work Preparer) Technical Department at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam, you play a key role in the optimal functioning of our yards in Schiedam and Botlek. Together with a team of about 13 colleagues, you ensure the yard keeps running and is continuously improved. You prepare various projects in the mechanical, electrotechnical and facility fields and ensure that work is carried out safely, efficiently and according to schedule. You are involved in projects involving cranes, installations and other technical equipment that are essential for our daily operations. This means you directly see the result of your work and stay close to the technology. What makes this role extra interesting is that you don't only work in the office, but are also regularly present on the yard and in operations.
Key accountabilities
As a Werkvoorbereider you will be involved in:
•Preparing technical work and projects so that colleagues can work safely, efficiently and according to schedule.
•Making work plans and schedules and ensuring that materials, tools and services are available on time.
•Coordinating work between the yard, suppliers and internal departments and keeping everyone updated on progress.
•Being involved in various technical projects involving, among other things, cranes, installations and other equipment at the yards in Schiedam and Botlek.
•Monitoring the progress, quality, safety and costs of projects and intervening when adjustments are needed.
•Being responsible for managing certificates and inspection reports of tools (lifting equipment / welding machines / measuring equipment, etc.)
•Identifying technical or operational bottlenecks and coming up with practical solutions to improve yard operations.
•Keeping technical documentation, project information and reports up to date so projects remain manageable and transparent.
Skills & Experience
You recognize yourself in the following profile:
•MBO-4/HBO working and thinking level, with a background in, for example, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or another technical field of study.
•Experience with planning and ERP systems; Microsoft Office is considered a strong plus.
•You have technical insight and are able to quickly understand technical issues and translate them into a practical approach.
•You are strong in planning and organizing and can effortlessly keep an overview of multiple activities and projects at the same time.
•You communicate easily with colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders and enjoy working together towards a shared result.
•You think in solutions, identify bottlenecks in good time and take initiative to implement improvements, while keeping an eye on quality, safety and results.
