What this job involves
As the Vice President / Project Executive at JLL Build, you lead a regional or named-account self-perform general contracting business with a book of work in the $100–200 million range. You own the full lifecycle of delivery, from preconstruction and buyout through closeout, and you are accountable for the P&L for each individual project in your portfolio.
You support building the team from the ground up, set the operating rhythm, and take on broader regional leadership as the platform scales. This is a player-coach role: hands-on during early projects and increasingly strategic as the organization grows.
What your day-to-day will look like
•Lead P&L performance across assigned projects and clients.
•Conduct Go/No-Go decisions with leadership and present compliance review, with commercial backup from Preconstruction and client-ready deliverables.
•Drive preconstruction and estimating, including Target Value Design with an architected cost model and the lump-sum vs. GMP recommendation on each pursuit.
•Set the standard for the Move-to-Construction handoff: scopes, vendor coverage, long-lead list, exclusions, and schedule assumptions.
•Lead procurement and trade buyout, including buyout authority, vendor coverage, and long-lead release.
•Own change control across RFI, PCO, and PCCO processes, and hold document control standards across every project.
•Oversee pay application, cost reconciliation, and vendor invoicing, so installed quantities and billings agree.
•Oversee permitting and AHJ coordination, commissioning, punchlist, and closeout through Final Certificate of Occupancy.
•Review the weekly report and risk feed for each project, and escalate risk early.
•Build, mentor, and scale a team of Project Managers, Preconstruction Managers, Construction Managers, Superintendents, and Project Engineers.
•Establish and enforce safety, quality, and risk management standards across all sites, including occupied, landlord-controlled, and mission-critical environments.
•Manage subcontractor relationships and protect margin through disciplined execution.
•Set the standard for construction management, project financials, and estimating technology, using platforms such as INGENIOUS.BUILD, e-Builder, Procore, and COSTX or equivalent.
•Serve as the primary client-facing leader for the GC function.
•Partner with senior leadership to shape processes, technology, and best practices.
•Integrate with existing project management and account teams.
•Contribute to account, regional, and portfolio-level business leadership and reporting.
Required qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
•15+ years of progressive experience in design and construction.
•Proven record of leading self-perform GC operations at scale.
•Deep expertise in labor strategy, insurance and bonding, and conflict resolution.
•Experience with Target Value Design, buyout authority, and document control.
•Experience contracting and delivering work on both lump-sum and GMP bases.
•Experience delivering on occupied, landlord-controlled, or mission-critical sites.
•Working fluency in construction management and project financials technology, such as INGENIOUS.BUILD, e-Builder, or Procore.
Preferred qualifications
•OSHA 30 certification.
•PMP or equivalent project management certification.
