In this role you lead a team of transport planners and are responsible for daily transport planning, specifically for outbound shipments to customers, ICT flow and export. You ensure efficient deployment of transport resources, monitor the execution of transports, and proactively intervene in case of disruptions, delays or capacity problems.
You also work on optimizing transport planning processes and are involved in projects. You monitor important transport KPIs. Based on analyses, you identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities and translate these into concrete actions to further improve service, efficiency and costs.
Key Responsibilities
•Leading, coaching and developing the transport planning team
•Coordinating daily transport planning for customers, ICT flow and export
•Monitoring transport execution and directly responding to deviations, delays and capacity problems
•Optimizing transport capacity, route planning, load factor and transport costs
•Monitoring and analyzing transport KPIs and realizing improvement actions
•Maintaining operational relationships with carriers and logistics partners
•Collaborating with warehouse, customer service, purchasing and carriers
•Contributing to projects focused on process improvement, new distribution channels and relevant laws and regulations
Requirements
You are a solid and approachable leader who maintains overview in a dynamic logistics environment. You switch easily between operational details and process improvement. You know how to take your team along in collaboration, responsibility and continuous improvement.
In addition, you bring:
•Bachelor's (HBO) level of work and thinking, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
•At least 3 to 5 years of experience in transport planning
•Experience with transport planning, distribution and supply chain processes
•Leadership or people management experience
•Experience with TMS, ERP and planning systems; experience with SAP R/3 is a plus
•Knowledge of relevant transport laws and regulations
•Excellent command of the Dutch language and professional command of the English language
