About the role
Experience how legal advice at a digital company directly flows into product and business decisions. In your Wahlstation (legal clerkship elective) at idealo, you work closely with experienced and specialized in-house lawyers (Syndikusrechtsanwält:innen) on current legal questions around e-commerce, digital products, and regulation.
idealo is one of the leading price comparison platforms in Europe and is active in several European markets. Its digital business model brings a wide variety of legal issues, from e-commerce and AI to platform regulation and intellectual property.
Your tasks
•You independently review legal questions arising from day-to-day business, support new products and features, and develop clear, practical recommendations based on your legal assessment for colleagues from product development, technology, marketing, sales, and other company departments.
•You deal with questions of trademark, competition, and copyright law and support out-of-court and court disputes.
•You work on current topics in IT and platform law, including the Digital Services Act and the implementation of new regulatory requirements.
•You review and draft contracts in the digital business environment, particularly with SaaS and other technology providers.
•You also handle cross-border questions in German and English.
What you bring
•You have passed your first state law examination (erstes juristisches Staatsexamen) with a grade of at least "befriedigend" and want to complete your Wahlstation in a corporate legal department.
•You are interested in e-commerce, digital products, AI, and the legal questions of modern business models.
•You work in a structured, independent, and careful manner and like to take responsibility for your own topics.
•You can present complex legal questions in an understandable way and translate them into clear, practical recommendations.
•You have a good understanding of economic contexts and think in a solution-oriented way.
•Prior knowledge of IT law, intellectual property, or legal questions around AI is welcome but not required.

•You will be closely integrated into the specialized Legal Team and work directly with experienced in-house lawyers, receiving personal support and regular professional feedback.
•In addition to your clerkship training, idealo offers an above-average compensated side position (Nebentätigkeit). The specific compensation depends on your agreed weekly schedule.
•Your weekly schedule is individually coordinated with you, taking into account court dates (AG-Termine) and the requirements of your exam preparation.
