Who We're Looking For
State Street Alpha is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Product Manager to help drive the next generation of our Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platform services. You'll help shape cloud-native, independently deployable data services that help some of the world's largest investment firms master, govern and distribute their data at scale.
This role suits a product manager with 5+ years of experience in data management or financial software who is ready to own significant capability areas. Reporting to the EDM product lead, you will own requirements and delivery for capabilities across entity and identifier resolution, reference data management, extensible data models and release management.
You'll work closely with engineering, architecture and client teams to turn business needs into well-defined, prioritized features that deliver measurable client value.
Why This Role Is Important to Us
State Street Alpha brings together data and capabilities across the investment lifecycle to help clients make better decisions, grow at scale and deliver returns for their clients. The Alpha Data Platform is a market-leading SaaS platform powering front-to-back investment workflows for global financial institutions.
We are evolving our data management services to be more modular, scalable and flexible to deploy — reaching more clients and simplifying how they adopt and operate our platform. You will directly shape the capabilities that help us grow our data platform business and deliver faster, safer releases to clients.
What You Will Be Responsible For
•Own one or more EDM platform service capabilities, such as entity and identifier resolution or reference data management, from requirements through delivery.
•Partner with the product lead to shape and communicate the roadmap for your capability areas to internal and external stakeholders.
•Lead requirements definition, including epics, user stories and acceptance criteria, and keep features aligned with business objectives.
•Define configurable matching and resolution rules, data mappings and reference data standards across securities, issuers, accounts and related domains.
•Contribute to data model extensibility and release readiness requirements so clients can adopt new capabilities with minimal disruption.
•Lead client calls and workshops to gather insights and validate requirements that drive product decisions.
•Prioritize competing needs and manage trade-offs, dependencies and risks across engineering, architecture and client delivery teams.
•Facilitate design reviews and working sessions, and guide the user acceptance testing approach for your capability areas.
•Track delivery progress and report status, risks and outcomes to product leadership.
•Guide business analysts and junior product team members on requirements quality and domain knowledge.
Qualifications
•5+ years of combined experience in product management or business analysis for software products, ideally in financial services or enterprise SaaS.
•Enterprise data management experience, including exposure to security master, entity resolution, identifier cross-referencing or reference data.
•Strong domain knowledge of financial markets and the investment lifecycle, including securities, issuers, pricing, portfolios and transactions.
•Proven ability to write high-quality requirements and lead requirements gathering with business and technical stakeholders.
•Working understanding of cloud-native, API-driven and multi-tenant architectures; SQL and data analysis skills are a plus.
•Familiarity with market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, MSCI) is a plus.
•Experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
•Polished communication skills and the credibility to engage senior stakeholders and clients.
•Ability to work as part of a global, distributed organization.
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related field; progress toward CFA or CAIA is desirable.
•Experience with investment management platforms such as Charles River IMS is a plus.
•Ability to travel as required for client engagements (~20%), including internationally.
