Deliveroo

Product designer in food delivery

In short

Graduate Product Designer role at Deliveroo's London HQ, working at the intersection of data, design, and engineering on a large-scale marketplace used by millions of customers, merchants, and riders. Requires a final-year design or tech-related degree (e.g. HCI, Interaction Design, Computer Science) with a portfolio showing strong design fundamentals and hands-on use of AI tools like Figma, Cursor, or Claude Code. The role involves prototyping, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and shipping AI-assisted design solutions in a fast-paced, low-hierarchy environment.

About the Role
There's a lot behind a morning coffee order. You could be part of it. A local café, a courier on the way and a customer ready to start their day. At Deliveroo, we connect people with the food, shops and products they love. As a Graduate Product Designer, you'll work at the intersection of data, design, and engineering, helping define how millions of people experience Deliveroo and turning complex marketplace challenges into simple, high-impact solutions.
Responsibilities
•You'll work on real projects that impact millions of customers, merchants, and Riders, collaborating with Product, Research, Data, and Engineering to prototype your concepts, test with real users, and ship improvements to millions of people.
•You'll experiment with how AI can change the way you work and design processes, and ship polished features that reach millions of users, merchants, and Riders.
•You'll use AI to explore divergent directions, build high-fidelity prototypes, and pressure-test ideas before they ship, leveraging this technology to help you shape how our product becomes smarter, more intuitive, and more human.
•You'll collaborate closely with designers, engineers, PMs, and researchers to find the right problems to solve and ensure high-quality implementation.
Requirements
•You're in your final year of study, graduating with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in design or a technology-related field (e.g. Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Computer Science, Digital Design, Industrial Design, etc) and available to start full-time in 2027.
•You have a portfolio (school, internships, or side projects) that shows strong design fundamentals - visual design, interaction design, and user-centered problem solving.
•AI is already part of your process and your portfolio includes at least one case study showing how you applied AI in your design process or designed an AI-powered experience.
•You communicate through prototypes - using Figma alongside AI-driven tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to turn ideas into working experiences quickly.
•You're excited to learn, comfortable making decisions or asking for help, and able to iterate quickly as you incorporate feedback.
Conditions
•This is a full-time role based in our London HQ.
•You'll be paired with a dedicated manager and a mentor while being supported by a community of designers passionate about learning and helping each other grow.
•Work on a complex, always-on marketplace that impacts millions every day.
•Ship, test and improve ideas quickly in a low-hierarchy, high-ownership environment.
•Take on big, ambiguous problems and accelerate your career with strong support.
