Marketing manager for shopping apps

In short

This role owns marketing localization and growth for Joko, an AI shopping app, specifically for the Spanish market — adapting central campaigns, CRM lifecycle, and consumer insight to local shopping habits. The company is a tech/consumer startup running an AI-driven shopping and cashback app with one of the world's largest product catalogs. It requires 5+ years of consumer marketing experience, native Spanish and fluent English, and being based in Barcelona or Madrid, working across campaigns, CRM, content and data-driven optimization.

About Joko
Joko is an AI shopping app that helps millions of users save time and money when shopping online or in-store. With Juno, its shopping assistant, users can find the right product at the best price in only a few seconds. What sets Joko's AI apart is how well it knows its users — shopping recommendations feel personal from day one and get sharper the more they are used. Joko draws on one of the largest product catalogs in the world and unique shopping data to personalize every recommendation. Users can also track the price of their favorite products and earn cash back almost everywhere, all in one free app.
Responsibilities
•Localize Joko's marketing for Spain: adapt centrally developed campaigns, messaging, creative assets, and workflows to Spanish culture, shopping habits, language, and market dynamics.
•Plan and execute Spain-specific campaigns: build the local calendar around the retail, cultural, and seasonal moments that matter in Spain, then partner with central specialists to deliver campaigns across channels from brief to launch.
•Own the Spanish user lifecycle: adapt Joko's CRM journeys and lifecycle automations to the local market, moving users from acquisition to activation, engagement, and long-term retention.
•Turn Spanish consumer insight into action: build a sharp understanding of local users, competitors, media, and shopping behavior, and use it to guide Joko's product and marketing decisions. Partner closely with the User Acquisition team to turn those insights into locally relevant creatives that help acquisition scale.
•Build local marketing foundations: establish lightweight processes for collaboration across the Spain team, central specialists, and local agencies or partners, enabling consistent execution as the market scales.
•Measure and optimize with data: track campaign and lifecycle performance, run A/B tests, and turn the results into clear recommendations and sharper execution.
Requirements
•Degree in business, marketing, communications, or equivalent track record.
•At least 5 years of experience in consumer marketing, ideally in tech, e-commerce, or retail, taking campaigns from idea to launch.
•Knowledge of the Spanish consumer market and how consumer brands grow in it.
•Based in Barcelona or Madrid.
•Native-level proficiency in Spanish and fluent in English, both written and spoken.
•Able to work across online and offline campaigns, content, social media and CRM, and know how to adapt global brands and campaigns to a local market.
•Not expected to be a specialist in every channel, but has strong marketing judgment, brings own ideas, and understands how to address Spanish consumers.
•Enjoys building from a blank page, being hands-on, and running several workstreams at once.
•Communicates clearly, builds trust across local and central teams, and creates pragmatic processes that help everyone move faster.
•Breaks down ambiguous problems, uses data to make decisions, and moves fast without losing rigor.
•Maintains a consistently high quality bar across every user-facing touchpoint.
•Uses AI tools to accelerate research, localization, content production, analysis, or workflows without compromising quality or brand consistency.
Conditions
•Flexible remote: if you live in Paris, you can choose to work from the office or from home with no constraints; if you live elsewhere, access to a coworking space and a coworking budget is provided.
•Work from anywhere: you can work from most countries in the world for up to 3 months per year.
•Top-market compensation.
•Equity for everyone with the chance to own a piece of what you build.
•Half-day each week dedicated to leveling up with AI by exploring new tools, iterating hard, and sharpening your skills.
•Yearly offsite in amazing locations and budget for team-building events & monthly in-person gatherings.
•Contribution to your ClassPass subscription.
•8-week leave paid 100% for the second parent.
