Head of Development for UTAAS / Trackfire – Lead the Transformation from Project to Product
Surface Sensor Solutions and the Product Unit UTAAS and Trackfire in Järfälla are in an exciting growth phase. Our products, UTAAS and Trackfire, are critical components across everything from tanks and off-road vehicles to surface ships, and they play a crucial role in today's security landscape – including countering drones.
Both products are experiencing strong growth, and in order to scale up and continue delivering world-class systems, we now face the challenge of transforming our development organization from a project-based way of working into a modern, product-oriented organization. We are now looking for two leaders who can turn strategy into concrete actions and who want to take ownership of this exciting journey.
Your Role
As Head of Development for either Trackfire or UTAAS, you report to the Head of Design. You will be responsible for how we build, scale and develop our products. Your mission is to lead the development organization through change, increase delivery pace, and ensure that we move from "delivering projects" to "developing high-quality products" based on an established product roadmap.
You lead a team of first-line managers, and together you are responsible for creating a coaching culture where collaboration between our cross-functional teams is the key to success and fast, high-quality deliveries. You need to have both a technical interest and a willingness to learn the product, as well as an understanding of how it is used, to succeed.
Your Responsibilities and Authority
•Strategic leadership: Design responsibility for the product's entire lifecycle – from R&D and development work to series production and aftermarket.
•Roadmap & Vision: Own, manage and develop the technical roadmap to meet market needs for our products.
•Transformation: Drive the shift towards a product-oriented way of working and implement modern governance models.
•Business responsibility: Responsible for budget and results within your area and active participation in the management team for Design and our Product Unit.
Who Are You?
You are a graduate or university engineer with a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in complex systems. You have experience leading other managers and thrive in the role of change leader. You are a strong communicator with the ability to inspire people during periods of change.
