SumUp

Head of regional field sales in fintech

In short

This is a Head of Field Sales role at SumUp to build and lead the regional management structure for Spain and Portugal from scratch, overseeing up to six regional managers, territory managers and self-employed consultants selling to small businesses. The company is a fintech providing payment and business tools used by millions of merchants worldwide. It demands prior experience leading field sales managers and scaling sales teams from an early stage, plus comfort managing self-employed consultant models. The role is office-first in Barcelona with regular travel across Spain and Portugal, starting as a 1-year fixed-term contract with a view to becoming permanent.

About the role
Spain and Portugal are still early in their field sales journey, and this role exists to take them out of incubation and into a strong, self-sustaining growth phase. You'll build and lead the regional management structure from the ground up, shaping how up to six regional managers, their territory managers and self-employed consultants sell SumUp's products to small businesses on the ground. It's a rare chance to design a sales organisation almost from scratch, with a direct line to shaping how SumUp wins two of its most important growth markets in Europe.

•Partner with regional managers and territory managers through joint field visits, coaching and regular team touchpoints
•Track and act on key sales metrics, including quota attainment, sales cycle length and customer retention, feeding insights back to wider stakeholders
Requirements

•Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to coach, challenge and align a distributed field team
Conditions
•Barcelona, Spain (office-first, with regular time in the field across Spain and Portugal)
