SHINE

General Manager, Denmark

In short

This role runs Shine's entire Danish market as a single business across accounting, payroll, payments and banking product lines, owning total Danish revenue, the full commercial budget, CAC/payback, and the local commercial team. It's posted by Shine, a European fintech unicorn (part of Cegid) building a unified financial copilot for small businesses, at a stage where separate product brands are merging into one market organization. The role reports to the SVP Revenue and demands prior ownership of a market or business-unit revenue number in B2B software/fintech/SaaS, real budget and CAC/payback accountability, experience running multiple product lines with different economic models, and experience building commercial teams through post-merger or PE-backed change. It requires being based in the Copenhagen area, native Danish and fluent English.

General Management at Shine
Denmark is one of the first markets bringing Shine's unified market model to life. Several product lines and established brands are coming together under one unified Shine portfolio: Shine Regnskab, Shine Salary, Shine Ecommerce, Shine Pay and more coming. Together, these products serve freelancers, micro-businesses, and small businesses. The mandate for this role is to build and strengthen Shine as one market business: one commercial strategy, one budget, one go-to-market story, and one person accountable for the result.
It is a build role at a defining moment for the business. Shine is transforming from a collection of successful product brands into one unified portfolio spanning accounting, payroll, payments, banking and future financial services. The General Manager owns how that comes together in the market while continuing to accelerate growth across both existing and new product categories.
Your Role as a General Manager, Denmark
Run the market as one business. Shine has several product lines active in Denmark. Your job is to make them win as a single market: one number, one budget, one go-to-market story. You are the single accountable owner of total Danish revenue. You hold the full-market commercial budget and decide how it is spent across every product line. The GM leads the entire local commercial team. The Business Unit Leads run the products. You run the market.
Your responsibilities will include:
•The market number. You are the single accountable owner of total Danish revenue across every product line, against plan.
•The full-market commercial budget. You hold the market envelope, set each product line's allocation, and reallocate across them as performance moves while optimising investment against the underlying economics of each product line.
•Blended market CAC and payback, and the efficiency of the market's total commercial spend.
•The local commercial team, country marketing, customer success, and market-level partnerships.
•The customer relationship at market level, across the full portfolio.
•Market coherence: one go-to-market story for Shine brand while also phasing out legacy brands.
•Helicopter function – on-demand support for Business Units to address specific challenges, capability gaps, growth opportunities or transformation initiatives, based on Business Unit needs or Executive Leadership priorities.
What you Decide:
•How the market budget splits across product lines and channels, and reallocation mid-period as performance moves.
•Local pricing, within global pricing policy.
•Which products to lean into or hold in the market, within portfolio strategy.
•Local hiring within the approved headcount plan.
•Resolution of conflict and priority between Business Unit Leads competing for budget and shared resources.
What is not yours:
•The global product roadmap. That sits with the global product organisation.
•Product-line execution detail. You set the frame and arbitrate. You do not run the Business Units day to day.
How you will be measured:
•Total Danish market revenue against plan.
•Market CAC and payback.
•Market net revenue retention.
•Market share.
Where the role sits:
•Reports to SVP Revenue.
•Manages every Business Unit Lead in the Danish market, plus country marketing, partnerships and customer success.
•Works closely with the global product teams for accounting, payroll, commerce, banking, with brand and with Finance and People partners for planning and org decisions.
About you
•You have owned a market or business-unit revenue number in B2B software, fintech, or SaaS, ideally serving small businesses, the self-employed, or accountants, and you have been measured on it.
•You have held a real commercial budget and answered for CAC and payback, not just topline growth.
•You have run more than one product line or revenue stream at once, ideally spanning different economic models such as subscription and banking revenue, and made the trade-offs between them under a single budget.
•You have built or rebuilt a commercial team and led it through change, including post-merger integration.
•You have operated in a PE-backed or post-merger environment, where the structure is still forming and you helped form it.
•You are based in Denmark, Copenhagen area, speak native Danish and are fluent in English.
