# Full-Stack Developer for Healthcare Apps
Care workers keep our healthcare system running and often receive the least appreciation for it. We want to change that. Value is the employee app for care facilities: a bonus system and benefits, messenger and newsfeed, pulse surveys and health services in one app. So care workers enjoy staying in their jobs. Our platform is steadily growing, and that is why we are looking for you: someone who combines Laravel backend development with modern web development, native app development and a good feel for product development. You will work on our API, admin area, web app and native apps, and help shape how our product evolves.
Tasks
•Drive the continued development of our Laravel application and backend architecture
•Develop and extend our REST API for the iOS and Android apps
•Implement new features holistically, from the database through business logic to the API
•Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
•Further develop our database structures and interfaces in a thoughtful way
•Develop authentication, permissions, background processes, notifications and other backend functionality
•Analyze, improve and continuously develop existing systems
•Write automated unit, feature and API tests and further improve our quality assurance
•Actively develop our web version and admin area
•Develop modern web interfaces with Vue.js, Inertia.js and Tailwind CSS
•Expand existing features and design and implement new functions for our web application
•Develop responsive web applications and continuously improve existing components
•Think about backend and frontend holistically and connect them effectively
•Drive the continued development and expansion of the Value app for iOS and Android using modern technologies
•Develop native apps with Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose
•Design user-centered features and implement them technically on both platforms
•Think about backend, API and apps holistically and connect them effectively
•Further develop our hosting and deployment infrastructure
•Improve and automate CI/CD processes
•Keep an eye on monitoring, logging and performance
•Optimize development, staging and production environments
•Consider security and scalability issues
•Evaluate new tools and technologies and integrate them sensibly into our stack
•Bring your own ideas and have a real influence on how Value evolves
•Work closely with the founders and other team members
Requirements
•At least 5 years of professional experience with PHP and Laravel, having developed, operated and continuously maintained production applications during that time
•Solid experience building and further developing REST APIs
•Very good knowledge of relational databases and sound database design
•Clean Code, SOLID, MVC and Dependency Injection are familiar concepts to you
•Experience with automated testing, especially unit and feature tests
•Practical experience with Vue.js, Inertia.js and Tailwind CSS
•Experience with native app development in Swift/SwiftUI and/or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose—or keen to quickly learn mobile development with AI support
•Keen to contribute your own ideas, take responsibility and help shape technical decisions
•Use AI tools naturally in development, but can also program just as well without AI and critically assess technical output
•Enjoy solving complex problems and turning them into simple, robust and intuitive solutions
•Enjoy working independently and are keen to make a real difference in an agile start-up
•What you studied or your educational background is not very important; above all, what matters is what you can do, how you think and what you would like to build with the company
Nice to have: Experience with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, server administration or monitoring is a plus.
