About the Team
Amazon's EMEA Payments Accounting team supports the controllership and accounting function for EMEA operations across multiple legal entities and locations. The team drives cross-border projects, develops accounting and controllership best practices, and implements financial policies internationally.
Responsibilities
•Prepare deliverables for internal and external financial reporting, including analytical commentary and supplementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders
•Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and annual financial statements
•Lead month-end close activities and ensure relevant deadlines are met
•Improve accounting processes and controls for a high-volume transaction business
•Participate in cross-functional project launches from scoping through testing and launch
•Engage with business stakeholders, including technology and administrative teams, on business integration projects
Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience in finance roles
•Knowledge of one or more accounting frameworks, including US GAAP, IFRS, or local GAAP frameworks, and ability to apply them in daily financial activities
•Fluent spoken and written English
•Experience supporting month-end closing processes and contributing to financial reporting under established procedures
•Experience supporting control implementation or contributing to audits in financial reporting environments
•Experience using financial models, KPIs, and data analysis to support business decisions
Nice to Have
•Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent
•Knowledge of financial reporting tools such as Cognos and Redshift
•Advanced Excel financial modeling using pivot tables, macros, VBA, and Power Query
•Experience with data analytics platforms such as Power BI, Python, SQL, and Tableau
