Tekever

Field Product Engineer | AR5

In short

Field Product Engineer role at a company building maritime surveillance UAS (the AR5), based in Caldas da Rainha but spending up to half the time deployed at customer and partner sites worldwide to support live operations. The role requires 4+ years of hands-on engineering experience across at least two domains (electrical, electronics, network & systems, telecommunications or mechatronics), strong communication skills for working directly with customer teams, and regular international travel. Benefits include fully covered travel, private health insurance, and shuttle commuting options.

The Role
At TEKEVER, we build Europe's most capable maritime surveillance UAS. When our AR5 deploys to a coastguard, a naval operation, or a border agency, it needs engineers who can make it work on the ground, under pressure, in environments that do not forgive mistakes.
As a Field Product Engineer, you will be embedded directly with customer teams worldwide. This is a field-first role. You will spend up to half your time deployed at customer and partner sites, supporting live operations and flight tracks worldwide. The remaining time is based at our campus in Caldas da Rainha, working closely with the core engineering and product team.
Location: Caldas da Rainha when not travelling to customer sites
What you'll do
•Develop and deliver customer-specific features and integrations on top of TEKEVER's baseline systems
•Work directly with customer engineering and operations teams on-site to translate operational needs into technical solutions
•Maintain system integrity while extending functionality for each deployment
•Be the feedback bridge between field operations and TEKEVER's core product development teams
•Travel regularly to customer sites around the world. This is a core part of the role, not an occasional add-on
What you bring
•4+ years of hands-on engineering experience across at least two domains: electrical, electronics, network & systems, telecommunications or mechatronics
•Proven ability to pick up unfamiliar systems fast and build on top of them reliably
•Strong communication skills. You are comfortable working directly with customer teams in demanding, professional field environments
•A bias for getting things done: a working solution in the field beats a perfect one still in review
•Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
Nice to have
•Experience with unmanned systems, avionics, or complex embedded platforms
•Background in systems integration or field deployment in defence or regulated environments
•Familiarity with programs delivery including governmental
