About Nexcess
Nexcess provides specialty cloud solutions for organizations that need to combine performance and compliance. It serves businesses worldwide, from agencies scaling client sites to enterprises running mission-critical operations.
Responsibilities
•Own an enablement domain, such as the CI/CD platform, secure coding and supply-chain controls, or reference architectures and service templates
•Build the AI verification layer for the domain, including pull-request reviews, AI-assisted test generation, gates for AI-generated code, and agent provenance tracking
•Make golden-path templates and repositories agent-ready, and configure CI to run agents safely with scoped credentials, sandboxing, and prompt-injection defenses
•Enforce quality for owned systems, including AI-generated code; keep pipelines versioned, tested, and observable, with gates that fail builds rather than issue warnings
•Remove recurring toil for development teams and measure AI contributions
•Serve as the escalation point for the domain, mentor engineers, run enablement sessions, and act as Tech Lead for enablement initiatives when needed
•Join the CI/CD platform on-call rotation, document incidents and close follow-up actions on schedule
•Write specifications before coding and verify changes with evidence in pull requests, including failure cases
•Identify dependencies early, agree on them directly with their owners, and deliver them ahead of dependent work
•Deliver predictable, reliable software aligned with business priorities and communicate delivery risks early with evidence
•Stay close to production, use the AI harness daily, and review code, including code not personally written
Requirements
•5+ Years in software engineering, including ownership of developer-facing tooling, CI/CD pipelines, or platform/enablement work after launch
•Hands-on fluency in containerization, deploy automation, PHP, Perl, and GitHub Automation
•Deep expertise in at least one enablement domain: CI/CD platforms, secure coding and supply-chain controls, or reference architectures and service templates
•Able to read code in unfamiliar languages and identify problems
•Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering in daily work; able to specify work precisely, critically review generated pipeline and IaC code, and identify failure modes and pre-merge checks
•Habitually write tests, gate on changed code, and use tests to catch mistakes
•Experience operating owned systems, including a production on-call rotation for a platform or pipeline, an owned incident, and a follow-up write-up that led to a change
•Clear written communication in a remote, distributed team, with decisions and trade-offs documented for colleagues across time zones
Nice to have
•Experience in managed hosting, cloud, or another high-availability service business
Conditions
•Visa support and relocation assistance
•Daily lunches in the office
•Comfortable working conditions
•Opportunity to practice and improve English
•Competitive salary and necessary equipment
•Medical insurance
•Office location: Lemesos, Cyprus
