About the Role
You want to work where Finance, Product and Tech come together? As Controller Tech & FinOps at idealo, you are Finance Business Partner for our Product and Tech organization and actively shape the expansion of our FinOps approach. You ensure that investments, technical usage, and cloud and AI costs become transparent, and that data-driven decisions and concrete measures emerge from this.
This role is exactly right for you if you enjoy thinking through technical topics, want to understand complex contexts, and want to help shape idealo's future together with Product and Tech teams.
The position is to be filled full-time.
Your Tasks
•Holistic Finance Business Partnering for Product & Tech – from planning, budget and forecast to ongoing financial steering.
•Development of meaningful KPIs, reports, forecasts and business cases, as well as translating technical contexts into financial decision-making bases.
•Steering and optimization of AWS, cloud and AI costs through transparent cost allocation, forecasting and management reporting.
•Establishing FinOps best practices together with Product, Platform and Engineering teams, as well as identifying and tracking efficiency and savings potential.
•Use of AI in controlling for automation, analysis, anomaly detection, forecasting and preparation of management information.
•Close collaboration with CFO, Executive Team, and Tech, Product and Operations Leads as a sparring partner for strategic and economic decisions.
What You Bring
•Several years of experience in controlling, Finance Business Partnering or financial analysis with solid knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting.
•Strong affinity for numbers and experience in developing KPIs, profitability, investment and scenario calculations.
•Ability to analyze complex cost and performance structures as well as business models and to communicate financial, operational and technical contexts in an understandable way.
•Independent, precise and solution-oriented way of working combined with a communicative and reliable personality.
•Very good Excel skills as well as experience with ERP and BI tools; knowledge of SAP, Jedox and Tableau is an advantage.
•Negotiation-level communication in German and English.
