Compensation combines a base salary with variable pay tied directly to assets raised, with no discretionary bonus.

About Aescap
Aescap invests in listed companies that develop and market medicines, medical devices and diagnostics. Our funds are licensed by the AFM. We operate as a private equity investor in public markets: from a universe of around 900 listed biotech companies, we select approximately twenty for each fund. In the more than ten years since our founding, our flagship fund, Aescap Life Sciences, has outperformed its benchmark, the iShares Biotech ETF in EUR, by more than 39%.
As Business Development Manager, together with our head of investor relations, you are responsible for growing the assets under management of our biotech funds. You focus on wealthy individuals and entrepreneurs, family offices and independent wealth managers.
Responsibilities
•Approach potential investors from your existing network and make contact with new parties, including foundations, insurers and pension funds.
•Conduct initial conversations independently and position the Aescap funds.
•An analyst or the portfolio manager will join for an in-depth discussion; you lead the conversation.
•Guide prospects through to making a commitment.
•Represent Aescap at networking events and with intermediaries.
•Record your progress in our CRM system and provide weekly updates on progress, results and obstacles.
Requirements
•Two to six years of work experience as a private banker, investment adviser, DGA adviser or SME adviser, or in sales, distribution or investor relations at an asset manager or fund company.
•Established relationships with wealthy individuals, entrepreneurs or professional intermediaries.
•Perseverance: rejection does not affect you personally; you call the next person.
•Genuine curiosity about the subject matter and enjoyment of the successes of our portfolio companies.
•Independence: you plan your own schedule and take responsibility for your own results.
•Fluent Dutch.
•Interest in biotech or life sciences. A background in the sector is not required; you will first receive extensive training and the investment team will provide the subject-matter expertise.
Conditions
•A market-competitive base salary, plus variable compensation directly linked to the assets you bring in: you receive a fixed amount for each tranche of assets raised.
•No discretionary bonus; you know in advance what each euro raised will earn you.
•When targets are met, variable compensation makes up a substantial part of your total compensation.
