About the Team
The AI/ML Engineering team builds and operates ClickHouse's AI and machine learning products, including the Agentic Data Stack, AI Functions, chDB, an in-Console copilot, and AI/ML partnerships. It also develops shared components and expertise that enable other ClickHouse teams to deliver AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
•Design and implement AI-powered features across the backend and frontend of the ClickHouse Cloud platform
•Create scalable APIs connecting ClickHouse database capabilities with AI/ML inference systems and internal and external AI services
•Implement and maintain integrations with the AI/ML ecosystem and its standards
•Integrate models into production systems with monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation
•Participate in the daytime on-call rotation
•Design and implement developer tools, SDKs, and documentation for ClickHouse's AI/ML capabilities
Requirements
•5+ years of software engineering experience in production environments
•Exposure to working directly with AI/ML technologies
•Backend development experience in TypeScript or Python, focused on API design and service architecture
•Ability to drive features from concept to production with minimal supervision
•Ability to collaborate and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
Nice to Have
•Experience integrating and deploying AI/ML models in production, including inference APIs and vector databases
•Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, particularly AI/ML deployment services
•Understanding of database systems and data processing pipelines
•ClickHouse experience
