# About the company
Air Liquide Medical Systems is the subsidiary of Air Liquide Healthcare dedicated to Medical Devices. The company develops, manufactures and sells innovative products in three fields: ventilation (ventilators and patient interfaces for intensive care, emergency care, transport, home), equipment for medical gases and aerosol therapy.
We have approximately 460 employees worldwide, including 245 in France. All sedentary employees are based on our site in Antony: from R&D to manufacturing, including support functions.
We are committed alongside those who are fighting for life, by creating the easiest devices to use and by transforming the standards of care. We are committed to providing a better quality of life for patients.
Our 5 main values are innovation, simplicity, quality, commitment and team spirit.
All of our job offers (permanent, fixed-term, internship, work-study) are open to people with disabilities.
# How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
Within the R&D department, composed of about a dozen embedded software architects and developers, you will be fully integrated into the project team and will participate in medical projects in line with our values. You will work on the development of one of our respiratory assistance devices, in a project that is as technically interesting as it is challenging.
You will be in charge of setting up a software development environment based on the hardware of an evaluation board of a SOC with ARM cores and an NPU, which will be used for the development of one of our products (embedded systems).
After getting familiar with the embedded environment of the medical system and the tools currently used, under the responsibility of the manager and the technical supervisor, you will be in charge of the following tasks:
•Data Engineering and Characterization: Set up test protocols on the new turbine mock-up to collect, process and analyze new relevant data.
•MLOps Environment and Traceability: Deploy a robust local development environment, including Data Version Control (DVC) tools to ensure reproducibility and documentary compliance (AI Act preparation).
•AI Development and Optimization: Re-evaluate existing models, design new algorithms (time series analysis) and optimize their quantization for performant deployment.
•Edge AI Deployment: Use the SOC's NPU (ARM i.MX8 architecture) to accelerate real-time model inference via dedicated frameworks (TensorFlow Lite, C/C++).
•Validation and Documentation: Test the performance and energy efficiency of the models on the target, make the alert/log system reliable, and rigorously document technical choices to facilitate industrialization.
•Cross-functional Collaboration: Interact with hardware and software teams to ensure smooth integration of algorithms into the modular architecture of the ventilator.
# Are you a Match?

•Understanding of data processing algorithms (preprocessing, filtering, time series analysis) to work on sensor data.
•Knowledge of AI and machine learning, for predictive maintenance applications (regression models, neural networks, anomaly detection, Auto Encoders).
•Proficiency in Python (prototyping of machine learning algorithms, data analysis) and C/C++ (real-time embedded development).
•Use of Edge AI frameworks (TensorFlow Lite, Arm NN, ONNX) and model optimization techniques (quantization).
•Skills in software optimization and resource management in constrained environments (real-time, embedded).
•Familiarity with versioning tools and MLOps/DevOps practices (Git, DVC, Docker, GitLab CI/CD).
Additional appreciated skills:
•Familiarity with cross-compilation and debugging on ARM targets.
•Experience with embedded systems (embedded Linux, Yocto, or others) and ARM architectures.
•Notions of regulatory constraints related to medical software (a plus).
Specific capabilities (soft skills)
•Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, in collaboration with hardware, firmware, and software engineers.
•Analytical and synthesis skills to address complex issues related to predictive maintenance and embedded systems.
