What makes us, us
Join some of the most innovative thinkers in FinTech as we lead the evolution of financial technology. At its foundation, SimCorp is guided by our values — caring, customer success-driven, collaborative, curious, and courageous. Our people-centered organization focuses on skills development, relationship building, and client success.
Why this role is important to us
Portfolio Analysis is where investment professionals turn data into insight on portfolios, performance and risk. Our products are business critical and widely used, so they need to keep evolving in a responsible way. Right now that means strong maintainability, high system performance, mature CI/CD, and reshaping parts of SimCorp Dimension for the cloud.
As a Senior Software Engineer in our Product Division, you will join an agile team of 5–7 people in the Portfolio Analysis Product Area. You will mainly work on backend components, APIs and services, using C#, .NET, Dyalog APL and Oracle.
AI is part of how we work every day. We see it as a natural part of modern software engineering, alongside source control, testing, CI/CD and code reviews. AI does not replace engineering judgment. It helps good engineers learn faster, reduce repetitive work and build better software.
Tasks
•Understand and challenge customer requirements together with your team, then design, implement, test and support the chosen solutions
•Design, develop and maintain backend functionality and APIs using C# and .NET, and work with Dyalog APL where it is part of the product
•Contribute to cloud modernization and scalable service design where it adds real value
•Improve performance, maintainability, testability and developer experience
•Take ownership beyond code: contribute to design discussions and help the team make sound technical decisions
•Use CI/CD, automated testing and code reviews as natural parts of daily engineering work
•Use AI every day in practical engineering work, such as exploring ideas, understanding unfamiliar code, prototyping, improving tests, documenting decisions and automating routine tasks
•Help the team discover where AI creates real value and where traditional engineering judgment should lead
•Collaborate with product owners, domain experts and fellow engineers to turn customer needs into good software
What we value
How you gained your skills matters less than your ability to learn, collaborate and take ownership. We expect you to know some of the following and to be interested in learning the rest:
•C# and .NET development, backend development and API design
•Building high-performance, scalable and maintainable applications
•Continuous integration and delivery, automated testing and practical quality engineering
•Relational databases, preferably Oracle or similar
•Cloud technologies, distributed systems or Azure-based services
•Willingness to learn additional technologies, including Dyalog APL
•Curiosity about AI-assisted software engineering and daily use of modern tools
Experience with financial instruments or investment systems is an advantage but not a requirement. We will bring you up to speed through training and a comprehensive onboarding program.
We also value people who take ownership and deliver results. We look for engineers who try new approaches, work with others to leverage everyone's strengths, and balance technical quality with business value. We want you to help build an inclusive, trust-based engineering culture.
Conditions
•Global hybrid work policy – We ask you to work 2 days a week from the office. You can work remotely the other days if you choose.
•Growth and innovation – Every sixth sprint is reserved for planning, innovation, learning and improvements.
•Self-direction – Teams and developers have a high degree of freedom to plan, organize and design their work.
•Modern engineering in a real product context – You will work on cloud modernization, AI-enabled development and performance in large-scale financial software.
•Inclusive and diverse company culture – We want people to bring different perspectives and contribute to a respectful workplace.
•Work-life balance – We believe balance between professional and private life makes us better colleagues and better engineers.
•Empowerment – All voices are valuable, and you will be involved in shaping our work processes.
