About the Role
The Staff Software Developer is a senior individual contributor who provides cross-team technical leadership for the Agentic Trust solution. The role owns complex, ambiguous problem areas that span services or build tracks and ensures implementation choices remain coherent with the four-plane reference architecture and long-term platform strategy. The Staff Software Developer is expected to remain deeply hands-on while raising quality and technical judgment across R&D. This role shapes designs, prototypes high-risk capabilities, resolves systemic issues, and creates reusable patterns that accelerate delivery across multiple teams.
Responsibilities
•Own the technical direction and successful delivery of broad initiatives spanning multiple teams, services, or platform planes.
•Partner with the Platform Architect and Software Development leaders to evolve reference designs, interfaces, dependency contracts, and development standards.
•Design and implement critical platform capabilities involving identity, delegated authority, policy enforcement, trustworthy execution, evidence, or assurance.
•Prototype uncertain or high-risk approaches and convert findings into scalable production designs.
•Lead architecture and design reviews; surface systemic security, reliability, interoperability, and scalability risks.
•Create reusable frameworks, libraries, reference implementations, and development guidance that improve consistency across teams.
•Diagnose complex production and performance issues and lead cross-team remediation.
•Mentor software developers and strengthen technical decision making through coaching, design feedback, and technical forums.
•Represent R&D in strategic customer, partner, or standards discussions when deep technical expertise is required.
Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
•10+ years of professional software development experience building and operating complex distributed or security-sensitive systems.
•Expertise in one or more modern programming languages, cloud-native system design, API contracts, data integrity, and production operations.
•Proven ability to lead large technical initiatives across organizational boundaries without relying on positional authority.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tradeoffs and create durable technical documentation.
•Deep experience in identity, Key Management, PKI, cryptography, authorization, HSM-backed services, workload identity, transparency logs, or verifiable systems.
•Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms and services with demanding latency, availability, and data-protection requirements.
•Knowledge of agentic AI ecosystems, MCP, agent-to-agent interactions, AI governance, or provenance standards such as C2PA.
•Open-source, patent, standards-body, or recognized technical community contributions.
