Grid Dynamics

Simulation QA engineer (auto)

In short

This role is the sole QA owner in a simulation engineering pod migrating an autonomy simulation platform to NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim for a global heavy-equipment manufacturer. It requires owning the full test strategy and building Python-based automated regression, integration and performance tests across SIL and HIL environments without a QA lead above you. The posting is from an IT outsourcing/consulting company (Grid Dynamics) staffing a client project, based in Warsaw office, middle-level seniority.

About the Role
We are seeking a Simulation QA Engineer to join a simulation engineering pod supporting the migration of an autonomy simulation platform to NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim for a global heavy-equipment manufacturer that is scaling autonomy, robotics and physical AI. In this role, you will be the sole QA owner in the pod, working with our technical lead and the client's simulation engineers to define the test strategy for the platform, automate regression, integration and performance testing across SIL and HIL environments, and prove that the migration does not degrade the results autonomy teams depend on.
Responsibilities
•Test Strategy Ownership: Own the end-to-end test strategy for the simulation platform, deciding what gets tested, how and when, with no QA lead above you.
•Test Automation & Frameworks: Design Python test frameworks and build automated regression, integration and system tests that run in CI/CD.
•SIL & HIL Testing: Build and run software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop tests, including work with real hardware.
•Migration KPI Validation: Track simulation KPIs and execution metrics, and show with data that the move to Omniverse and Isaac Sim keeps results consistent.
•Performance & Scalability: Create performance, scalability and benchmarking tests so the platform holds up as autonomy teams run scenarios at scale.
•Traceability & Quality Reporting: Keep requirements traced to tests and report quality status to the technical lead and the client.
Requirements
•Commercial experience in test automation and QA for complex software systems, including owning the test strategy for a product area without a QA lead above you.
•Python Test Automation: Strong Python skills and hands-on experience designing test frameworks from the ground up.
•CI/CD Testing: Proven experience with regression, integration and system testing embedded in CI/CD pipelines.
•SIL / HIL Environments: Practical experience setting up and testing in software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
•V&V Practice: Experience with verification and validation, including requirements traceability and KPI validation.
•Performance Testing: Experience with performance and scalability testing, benchmarking and execution metrics.
Nice to Have
•Autonomy & Safety Software: Experience testing autonomy or safety-related software.
•Simulation & Robotics Tools: Hands-on experience with Isaac Sim, CARLA or ROS 2.
Conditions
•Opportunity to work on bleeding-edge projects
•Work with a highly motivated and dedicated team
•Competitive salary
•Flexible schedule
•Benefits package - medical insurance, sports
•Corporate social events
•Professional development opportunities
•Well-equipped office
