Senior Product Manager, Data Products

In short

Senior Product Manager role on Slack's Data Products team at Salesforce, building internal analytics, data science, and experimentation platforms accessed by humans and AI agents like Slackbot, Claude, and Codex. The role involves setting strategy, prototyping with coding agents alongside engineering and design, and driving productization of data tools for Slack's customers. Requires 5+ years shipping technical products as a PM, data scientist, or analyst, a background in data science/engineering/analytics, A/B testing knowledge, and hands-on experience building prototypes with coding agents.

About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. The world of work is changing, and Salesforce is looking for Trailblazers passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all. Agentforce is the future of AI.
The Experience
The Data Products team is responsible for defining the frontier for data at Slack. Software development is now an interactive, multiplayer experience with Slack code channels, and the team is reimagining insights as well. Humans and agents should be able to ask questions and dig into data through intuitive, conversational experiences — enabling faster, more rigorous decision-making. The team builds the internal analytics, data science, and experimentation platforms that power the whole company — accessed directly or through agents like Slackbot, Claude, and Codex.
As a Product Manager on the team, you'll tackle problems across the core data stack:
•Build the context for AI. Enable agents to discover, interpret, and reason over Slack's data with accuracy and confidence.
•Turn insights into action. Equip agents with the tools, MCP servers, and APIs to investigate questions, run analyses, and deliver recommendations in the flow of work.
•Reimagine data exploration. Build intuitive, interactive experiences that take teams from questions to insights through conversational analytics, dashboards, and notebooks.
•Scale the data experience. Evolve the data platform and pipelines to power increasingly sophisticated analytical workflows with speed and reliability.
We're looking for a builder with deep roots in data science, data engineering, or analytics — someone who uses coding agents every day and deeply understands the pain points of both data builders and data consumers. You generate your own insights and work closely with engineering partners to build working prototypes. From there, you'll drive those solutions toward productization for the millions of customers and agents who rely on Slack every day.
You'll be the second PM on the Data Products team as we double down on this space, helping define how Slack builds with and interacts with data. You're a technically minded product manager who is comfortable working alongside developers, digging into the details, and communicating effectively with executives.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Understand the problems
•Partner with customers, engineers, and data teams to understand their workflows and where agents fall short.
•Set the strategy and roadmap, then prototype with coding agents alongside engineering and design.
•Define success metrics to guide priorities, and keep iterating after launch.
•Make data-driven decisions the norm by simplifying experimentation and bringing insights into Slack channels.
•Get close to your customers: the product managers, engineers, designers, data engineers, and data scientists who use our tools. Understand their workflows, the questions they're trying to answer, and where agents fall short or get things wrong — and dig into why.
•Get close to your partners: product engineering, data engineering, data science, and product management to understand the full stack and where changes need to be made to create high quality output.
Set strategy and ship
•Write the strategy and roadmap for your area.
•Write requirements and prototype with coding agents alongside engineering and design.
•Define success metrics and use them to decide what to prioritize and where to invest further.
•Stay close! Launching is really the beginning of the journey. Follow up and keep iterating to get this right.
Raise the bar on decisions
•Keep moving Slack toward a data-driven culture, where every team turns to data to make informed decisions.
•Make it easier to design, define, and launch experiments — and just as easy to understand and analyze the results, making experimentation the norm.
Bring insights to where work happens
•Bring insights into Slack, so teams can share and act on data in the channels where they already work.
•Partner with product teams to turn our best internal tools into features for Slack customers.
