About the Role
Location: Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, Seattle
Introduction to the Team
The Product Team creates high-quality end-to-end experiences for travelers, partners, and Expedia Group. Our focus on customer-centric innovation enables us to develop products that build loyalty and repeat business. We partner closely with teams across Expedia Group to drive growth and achieve results for our customers and the company.
As a Senior Product Designer on the Vrbo design team, you'll shape how that whole journey looks and feels, from the first saved home to the moment everyone walks through the door, and the memories they share afterward. You'll bring Vrbo's refreshed brand to life in the product and help turn group coordination from a source of stress into part of the fun. This is a hands-on role for a designer who cares as much about the big idea as the final detail, and who wants their craft to be felt by families and groups around the world.
In this role, you will:
•Own the end-to-end design of the Vrbo Trips experience, from framing opportunities and defining interaction models through detailed execution, launch, and iteration.
•Design for the whole trip (planning, pre-arrival, in-stay, and post-stay) so every traveler, whether they're the organizer or a guest, feels informed, included, and in control.
•Translate Vrbo's brand into distinctive, accessible product experiences, balancing brand expression, usability, and business goals across web and app.
•Shape strategy through storytelling: partner with product, engineering, content, and research, using prototypes, research insights, analytics, and experimentation to build shared conviction and keep improving the experience.
•Prototype with AI tools and model outputs to explore how AI-enabled experiences can help groups make decisions together, and ground those ideas in real traveler needs.
•Raise the bar on craft across the team through critiques, design reviews, and mentoring, and champion accessibility and inclusion in everything you ship.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, or related field; or equivalent related professional experience.
•5+ years of professional experience in product design, user experience design, interaction design, or a related discipline.
•Your portfolio shows shipped digital products with excellent interaction and visual design, and tells the story behind your work: the problem, the trade-offs you made, and the impact.
•Deep expertise in interaction or visual design, plus proven skill in complementary areas such as prototyping, research, facilitation, information architecture, or content design.
•You've designed complex experiences with product and engineering partners, and you can turn ambiguity into clarity and explain your design rationale to audiences from engineers to senior leaders.
•Fluent in modern design and prototyping tools, and you can work within an established design system while helping it evolve.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience designing shopping, discovery, marketplace, or travel experiences at scale.
•Experience designing collaborative or multi-user experiences, where several people plan, share, or decide together.
•Hands-on experience prototyping with AI tools, working directly with model outputs, or building interactive concepts with large language models or generative AI.
•A track record of partnering with user research and using qualitative insights and behavioral data to guide and refine design direction.
