Project Details
•Customer location: United Kingdom
•Candidates locations: All except Belarus, Russia
•Language: English B1+, Russian
•Estimated start date: 02.11.2026
•Duration: 3 months
Project Responsibilities
•Owning the test strategy for a data-collection platform spanning the worker app (WebView inside the main inDrive app), the back office, and backend services, from test plans through release sign-off.
•Testing media capture and upload in real-world conditions: photo, voice, video, and text across a wide range of Android/iOS devices, poor networks, interrupted and resumed uploads, and on-device pre-checks.
•Verifying complex business flows and state machines: task reservation and expiry, quotas and campaign auto-stop, submission statuses, review and rework cycles, labeling consensus, and buyer isolation between segments.
•Ensuring correctness of money and compliance flows: accruals, balances, payout batches and reconciliation, consent versioning and withdrawal, data erasure, and audit trails for every action.
•Building and maintaining end-to-end and API test automation in CI, plus load testing of the task queue and ingestion under peak traffic (e.g. after mass push notifications).
Candidate's Portrait
•A QA Fullstack engineer with a strong background in both manual and automated testing, ready to build automation essentially from scratch
•Proficient in Java/Kotlin, with a level sufficient to write and maintain automated tests
•Understands the product's business risks and can prioritize testing with a focus on money, compliance, and critical user flows
•Comfortable working across the mobile app (via WebView), web, API, and backend services, able to see the full picture
•Self-sufficient, capable of building out test strategy and process for a new product without existing infrastructure in place
•Russian Speaker
Must-haves
•Experience in functional, integration, API, and E2E testing across the full user journey: onboarding and consent, task queue, data capture and upload, review, earnings, and payouts
•Automation experience in Java/Kotlin — this is a new product with no existing automated tests, and the goal is maximum automation coverage
•Selenium/Selenide + Appium
•Strong experience in API automation (REST and/or gRPC), including tools such as Postman
•Understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture: retries, timeouts, idempotency, duplicate events, eventual consistency
•Experience testing financial flows: accruals, balances, batch payouts, reconciliation with third-party payout providers
•Understanding of data privacy requirements: consent management, data retention, erasure
•Experience testing time- and quota-based logic: TTL-based task reservations, expiry and reassignment, volume limits, targeting by country/language/segment
•Ability to investigate issues using logs, metrics, traces, databases, and message queues (Grafana, CloudWatch, Kibana, Kafka, SQL/MySQL)
•Experience working with CI/CD, Docker, AWS-based environments
•Ability to validate consistency across the mobile app, WebView, back office, backend APIs, and distributed services, and troubleshoot partial failures and partner/service outages
•Experience contributing to test strategy, requirements reviews, release validation, and production issue analysis with a focus on business risk
Nice-to-have
•Experience testing media capture and upload on mobile devices (photo, voice, video, text): device fragmentation, permissions, unstable networks, resumable uploads, on-device validation
•Knowledge of JS/TS for automation
•Knowledge of Playwright/Cypress
•Experience testing integrations with external services: authentication, CRM, push notifications, payout partners, LLM providers, cloud storage (S3)
•Experience with load and performance testing (task queues, ingestion under peak load, e.g. after mass push notifications)
•Experience with Appium or other mobile automation frameworks a plus, but not required, as the current priority is API and web automation
