What you will do
•Build and maintain public code in Apache James and the TMail backend.
•Implement JMAP and its extensions for modern, feature-rich email experiences.
•Develop distributed mail infrastructure using Cassandra, S3, OpenSearch, and RabbitMQ.
•Build features and optimizations for Twake Mail and Twake Calendar production deployments.
•Contribute improvements upstream to Apache and participate in the open-source ecosystem.
Requirements
•Senior-level Java development experience and the ability to read and write Scala.
•Experience working in large codebases and strong interest in distributed systems and protocols.
•Knowledge of or practical experience with IMAP, SMTP, JMAP, CalDAV, CardDAV, and OpenID Connect.
•Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, performance at scale, and Kubernetes.
•Autonomous ownership of technical topics and a results-oriented approach to shipping production software.
•English is the working language, and the role is available remotely only from France or from the Issy-les-Moulineaux office.
