XTX Markets is an algorithmic trading firm that uses machine learning to forecast prices for financial instruments and trades on exchanges and alternative trading venues. It also provides liquidity directly to clients worldwide.
Responsibilities
•Communicate regularly with internal users about their needs and ideas
•Understand the workflows of all teams involved in trading
•Design, implement, and maintain data ingestion mechanisms, internal data processing and presentation frameworks, and in-memory query engines
•Present data clearly, usefully, and accurately in collaboration with frontend developers
•Maintain the calculation of trading metrics
•Build software that runs reliably 24/7
•Participate in the on-call rota
Requirements
•Communicate effectively with technical stakeholders, understand user needs, gather feature requirements, and prioritize them according to business needs
•Be algorithmically literate and able to write efficient code
•Be familiar with distributed systems and reason about consistency and delays
•Have at least 5 years of professional coding experience with Java or C++
•Be willing to learn Kotlin
•Be skilled in writing automated tests
•Care about reducing complexity, correctness, and reliability
•Be proactive about taking responsibility
Nice to have
•Familiarity with high-throughput JVM techniques
•Experience with binary protocols
•Proficiency working with databases
•Experience with high-stakes systems
