Job Description Summary
In this role, you help ensure that gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) meets the highest technical standards — before it reaches the customer.
As a Quality Engineer in GIS production, you are responsible for quality assurance along the entire final inspection process. You are the technical point of contact for test procedures, carry out customer acceptance tests (FAT – Factory Acceptance Tests), and ensure that deviations are detected, analyzed, and sustainably resolved.
Your Tasks
•Ensure compliance with processes and quality requirements in GIS production — including the authority to stop production in case of severe deviations
•Plan and conduct customer acceptance tests (FAT) and professionally represent GE Vernova to customers
•Perform product and process inspections according to applicable requirements, systematically evaluate results, and maintain test documentation in SAP and Windchill
•Lead or support root cause analyses, define improvement measures, and structurally track implementation — including via Smartsheet
•Issue special releases for documented deviations in coordination with Research & Development (R&D), the Quality Leader, and Production
•Develop and conduct quality training for production employees
•Take over quality assurance for LVCC (Low Voltage Control Cubicles) as the central point of contact
Required
•Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent professional experience in GIS or high-voltage technology
•Experience in quality assurance or final inspection in an industrial production environment
•Knowledge of conducting root cause analyses and deriving corrective measures
•Very good German skills and good English skills, written and spoken
Preferred
•Experience with gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) or high-voltage components
•Knowledge of conducting or supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
•Familiarity with relevant standards and test regulations (e.g., IEC 62271)
•Experience with SAP (quality or production modules) as well as Windchill or a comparable PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system
