Responsibilities
•Deliver high-performance APIs focused on speed and reliability using FastAPI to serve machine learning insights
•Deploy and manage cloud-native services using AWS and Infrastructure as Code principles
•Use Kafka to deliver near-real-time data to machine learning models, other teams, or customers
•Apply AI throughout the software development lifecycle while keeping systems reliable and maintainable
•Implement testing frameworks and system designs to maintain code quality and service reliability
•Improve observability and performance monitoring for production services and the platform
•Design, build, and operate data-intensive applications and infrastructure
•Own the data ingestion service
Requirements
•Extensive professional experience in Python backend development, including building and maintaining highly available backend services at scale
•Ability to design, build, and maintain data-intensive applications and infrastructure
•Deep understanding of AWS services
•Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as AWS CDK, Terraform, or Pulumi
•Experience with containerization, including Docker and AWS ECS or Kubernetes
•Experience with Kafka
•Collaborative approach and ability to work autonomously, owning services from design through production
Nice to have
FastAPI, experience working with data scientists in the PyData ecosystem (NumPy, Pandas), Redis, Postgres, Airflow, Spark
