Our Future Health UK

Product manager for research tools

In short

Product Manager role at Our Future Health, a health research organisation, joining the Research Enablement team to shape tools and services researchers use to access and work with health data. The role involves understanding researcher needs, defining product vision and priorities, working closely with engineering, design, science and governance teams, and balancing scientific/technical complexity with user-centred product decisions. Requires prior Product Manager experience (ideally on digital or data products), strong stakeholder management, and comfort with ambiguity and scientific/technical concepts. Hybrid role based in Central London (Holborn), salary from £60,000.

About the Role
At Our Future Health, we're bringing together health information from millions of people to help researchers discover new ways to prevent, detect and treat diseases. We're looking for a Product Manager to join our Research Enablement team and help shape the tools and services researchers use to access and work with this unique resource.
Responsibilities
•Build a deep understanding of researcher needs, workflows and pain points through research, data and direct engagement with users
•Help define and communicate the vision and strategy for the researcher experience, translating complex scientific, technical and user needs into clear product priorities
•Make thoughtful trade-offs between user value, strategic goals, technical feasibility, risk and organisational priorities
•Identify opportunities to make important research tasks simpler, faster and more intuitive across an ecosystem of connected products and services
•Define success measures, analyse product and user data, test assumptions and use insights to continuously improve our products
•Collaborate closely with engineering, design, science, data, research and governance teams, as well as external technology partners
•Help us innovate responsibly while meeting the security, ethical and governance requirements associated with health research and sensitive data
•Help colleagues across the organisation understand and adopt user-centred, outcome-focused ways of working
Requirements
•You've been a Product Manager, ideally working on digital or data products
•Experience working with cross-functional teams to take products or features from understanding the problem through to delivery and iteration
•A strong user-centred approach, with experience using research and insight to understand problems and inform product decisions
•The ability to prioritise effectively and focus teams on outcomes rather than simply delivering features
•Confidence using data and evidence to make decisions and measure whether a product or change is working
•Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work with people from specialist scientific, technical or data backgrounds
•A level of scientific and/or technical fluency that enables you to understand complex concepts and workflows, ask good questions and translate them into clear product decisions
•Experience working in an agile environment with multidisciplinary teams
•The ability to work effectively with ambiguity and adapt as priorities, evidence and user needs evolve
•A genuine interest in health, science and research
Conditions & Benefits
•Salary from £60,000
•Generous Pension Scheme – employer contributions of up to 12%
•30 Days Holiday pro rata + Bank Holidays, with flexibility to take bank holidays when it suits you
