About your role
As Principal - Cloud Architecture, SRE & DevOps, you will define and build cloud infrastructure patterns that support scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient platforms across the enterprise. You will work with engineering, platform, and architecture teams to design high-availability environments, strengthen reliability practices, and accelerate delivery through modern DevOps automation. Your work will help improve infrastructure resilience, optimize cloud performance and cost, and establish strong operational foundations for new and existing cloud initiatives.
What you'll do
•Design and implement cloud architecture solutions across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure that support secure, scalable, and resilient application delivery.
•Build and establish cloud infrastructure from the ground up for new projects, applying architecture standards, automation, and platform best practices.
•Lead infrastructure design for high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and low-latency performance across distributed systems and business-critical environments.
•Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and related automation practices to enable repeatable, consistent, and auditable cloud deployments.
•Design, implement, and optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines that improve deployment speed, quality, and operational control.
•Partner with engineering teams to support Kubernetes-based platforms, event-driven systems such as Kafka, caching services such as Redis, and relational or NoSQL databases and storage platforms.
•Define and improve site reliability engineering (SRE) and observability practices including monitoring, alerting, incident readiness, service resilience, and operational performance reviews.
•Design and optimize cloud infrastructure capabilities such as landing zone architecture, application gateways, load balancers, infrastructure observability, AIOps capabilities, and traffic management configurations.
•Drive continuous cloud cost optimization by improving architecture efficiency, resource utilization, scaling patterns, and operational governance.
•Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance for platform modernization, infrastructure hardening, and operational best practices across cloud environments.
Experience you'll need to have
•13+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, DevOps engineering, site reliability engineering (SRE), or related technical disciplines supporting enterprise environments.
•13+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
•Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools to build and manage scalable cloud environments.
•Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines, container platforms such as Kubernetes, and automation practices that improve engineering delivery and reliability.
•Experience with distributed infrastructure components including Kafka, Redis or similar caching platforms, relational databases, NoSQL databases, and cloud storage services.
•Experience designing high-availability, high-scalability, and resilient infrastructure patterns with strong observability, low-latency performance, and operational readiness.
•Experience improving cloud cost efficiency through architecture optimization, capacity planning, and usage governance.
•Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
Experience that would be great to have
•Experience with AIOps capabilities, platform observability frameworks, and intelligent infrastructure operations.
•Experience designing landing zone architectures, application gateways, and enterprise network traffic management in cloud environments.
•Experience building greenfield cloud environments and establishing platform standards from initial project setup.
•Experience in financial services, payments, or other regulated technology environments.
How you'll work
•This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
