Optical Designer (m/w/x) Hunting & Nature

In short

This role designs optical systems for classic and digital hunting and nature-observation devices, including performance prediction and ghost/stray light simulation, for a ZEISS business unit (Hunting & Nature) currently being spun off into an independent company with an investor. It requires a strong Master's or Diplom degree in Physics, Optical Engineering or similar, strong expertise in physical/technical optics, and familiarity with tools like Zemax/Optics Studio, Code V and FRED. The job involves close communication with international suppliers and partners, and fluent German and English are required.

About the Role
As part of the planned spin-off of the ZEISS Hunting & Nature business unit, a new, independent company is being created. Recruitment takes place via ZEISS, but employment itself will be with the independent company currently being established.
Become part of Hunting & Nature – an exciting consumer business offering innovative optical products for hunters, birders and outdoor enthusiasts worldwide. Our passion for innovation and precision drives us to develop products that enrich our customers' lives and take their nature observation and hunting experiences to a new level.
Hunting & Nature is currently undergoing an exciting transformation process: to position ourselves in a more dynamic, customer-oriented and future-oriented way, we are transferring the company out of the ZEISS Group into an independent unit with an investor. The new unit will exclusively develop and sell the innovative optical products for hunters, birders and outdoor enthusiasts under the ZEISS brand.
